Can somebody please tell Nicole to do the Loop in the first half. She does not stop falling.
She lands it way later in the FS; in the interview she told it's all mental.
But I admit, I kinda agree with you, it does not really seem to work.

#OlympicRace Pairs Final Standing

Nationals Podium

2. Minerva-Fabienne Hase/Nolan Seegert 168,99pts
3. Annika Hocke/Ruben Blommaert 164,66pts

I am still very sad, that H/S don't get a chance for worlds; they lead the head-to-head with H/B 2-1 now this season and placed higher at nationals.
H/B got the home advantage competition in Oberstdorf, where they skated great and got the home bonus (and the main lead for the race). No home bonus competition for H/S.
I can't understand why there might be a re-evaluation for the dance worlds spot depending on the euros results, but none for pairs. This just seems not fair to me.

Yeah. Hase/Blommert has fallen off in quality during the season. So there should be a possibility for Hase/Seegert to go to worlds!

Aljona and Bruno. This FS is unbelieveable. Even with this two mistakes this program is simply out of this world. Just memorizing.

The commentator ask Aljona about the level 4 twists issues. Goodness. This question would not have been ask if Michael Weiss had not talked about it during GPF. What a good commentary can produce!

I agree with you @Jeschke and @Quadjump about the German pairs. Hocke/Blommaert had that great early showing at Nebelhorn, but since then they’ve basically been trending downward, while Hase/Seegert have trended upward.

With the quad twist level issues, it’s something S/M fans have been talking about for a while. I think it’s the split that’s the issue. You need a fantastic split these days to get level 4, it seems. ETA: what did Aliona say about it?

It's the problem with using different competitions in order to select athletes, for sure.

I don't understand how Europeans could be used to reevaluate dance. Germany only has one spot in the dance event there, don't they?

Yeah, but fed mentioned in criteria, if the team heading to euros does not finish top12, there might be a re-evaluation for worlds.
That's what I mentioned as unfair, as there is nothing like that in pairs.

Still makes no sense. There'd be no evidence that the other team has a better chance of finishing top 12. I suppose it would leave the German Fed open to sending a less experienced team to Europeans--giving them the opportunity at Euros if they earn it and then snatching it away if they did more poorly than Lorenz & Polizoakis have over the last couple seasons. If L&P go, though, I don't see any way Euros can be used to reevaluate. Muller & Dieck have really just started besting real players on the senior scene this year.

3? French teams
3 Russian teams
2 Italian teams
1 British team
1 Danish team
1 Spanish team
1 Polish team
1 Ukrainian team
1 Turkish team
1 Hungarian team

Those are your other players, I think. Lots of teams. It won't be easy. (Also Euros are in Russia and several of the lower teams are half Russian). But Germany could make top 12.

So is that it, Fentz is going to the Olympics?

Does Liebers gets worlds, or is this the end of his career?

According to the rules, yes.

Worlds spot goes to the best finisher at euros, where Liebers has qualified.
If he goes on, who knows now he missed olympics.

Oh, I thought you said before that Olympics/worlds would be split based on Nationals. I guess I was confused.

Koch/Nüchtern really impressed me. Dramatic skate.

Müller/Dieck´s presentation was too powerful. He exaggerated with everything. But nevertheless nice to have such a great dance field.

Euros team is confirmed!

Lets hope Liebers really goes and doesnt decide to retire until after the Olympics.

Dastich debuting alongside experienced Schott.
Really like the split with Dastich doing Euros abd Junior Worlds and Schott getting Euros and Olympics.

Goess its a bit much to ask for right now to hope r
for a 3rd Euros pairs spot for next season.

Euros team is confirmed!
http://www.muensterschezeitung.de/S...kunstlaeufer-Fentz-erstmals-deutscher-Meister
Google translated excerpts:
"Paul has earned the Olympic starting position," said Liebers, who was disappointed with the missed ticket to the Winter Games. The Olympic Eighth of Sochi will accompany Fentz to Moscow at the end of his career at the European Championships in January.
"We really did not have any strength today. The audience helped us to get such a performance, "said Savchenko. Hocke / Blommaert will accompany the exceptional pair to EM and Olympia for better upfront performance.
Nicole Schott triumphed for the third time. ... The 17-year-old Lea Johanna Dastich (162.42) from Dresden as third will fly to Moscow in January, just like Schott.
Schott was already the only starter for the Olympics before the title fights. "It is an incredible feeling, it is the dream of every athlete to come to Olympia," said the graceful runner, who was satisfied with her freestyle score on Schindler's list.
As in the previous year, the Oberstdorfer Kavita Lorenz and Panagiotis Polizoakis put in the ice dance with 165.07 points ahead of Katharina Müller / Tim Dieck (Berlin / Dortmund / 158.66) and secured the starting place at the Winter Games in February. "That was very emotional because we were so under pressure," Lorenz said after the successful lecture on "Pride and Prejudice." "Now I'm superhappy."
