Wow. I like Medvedeva with Orser and she seemed truly happy. This is unexpected. Why did this happen sooner if she has been unable to get into Canada for some time?
I dont think the Canadian border will open any time soon either. She is smart to find a coach in her home country.

Skating opportunities in Canada dont look anything like what Russia has planned. No large group events in my province...

We won’t have to wait long for the first Eteri-Genya reunion by the boards, right? First Russia Cup competition is soon! Woohoo!!! 🍿

So is Vladimir Morozov still in Florida...or was the team able to travel to Russia? Sorry but I don’t follow Pairs that closely to know comings & goings in real time. :slinkaway

Vladimir Morozov has the *******, he and Tarasova will miss at least the first Russian Cup event... :(

I agree, but OMG Bolero for a fourteen year old for the FS? That's just completely wrong, and it also seems like a choice that accentuates her lack of interpretive abilities, the one weakness in her skating. I sure hope they don't keep that for the Olympic season.

Yes, Bolero is so wrong for so many reasons. Some of which could be solved by not choreographing the program as a literal jumping drill.

They are in Russia. They flew back the 6th.

I hope he recovers soon.
Dai and Kana train with them and Dai looked and sounded pretty sick in this video today.

I pray he didn't catch it as well!

According to SE, Medvedeva has WD from this weekend's Russian Cup competition in Syzran and Anna Shcherbakova and Maya Khromykh are the only senior ladies competing from Tutberidze's group:

Samarin has withdrawn as well

So with all these WD's it seems no big deal to WD and get later assignments (or bye's) to qualify. At least for the bigger names.
Wonder how crowded the last 2 events are :watch:

IDK. I just hope my beloveds recover in time for the last 2 events. No way the fed doesn't move people or make exceptions now.

Google translated excerpt of Vladimir Morozov's quote:
"Yes, the test showed a coronav*rus. I hope that the form is mild, there was a temperature in the first days. And now it has more or less normalized. My head aches. Rarely there is a cough, a sore throat. I undergo treatment at home. On September 28, I should take a test. If it is negative, in a day I will hand over another one, and then I will be able to go on the ice. Hopefully, we will be in time for Skate America and we will perform at the later stages of the Russian Cup, "Morozov said by phone." We are skipping the Russian Cup stage in Syzran, but I hope this (coronavirus) short history".
T/M originally were planning to compete in the second stage of the Russian Cup in Moscow (October 10-13) -- sounds like they may skip it as well? Skate America is Oct. 23-25.

In any other year, they can attend any event. This year it was split to ensure that some events won’t end up too overcrowded with top skaters. For example, in this event Medvedeva would have very little co petition, whereas in the event later on she may be unlucky and end up 10th... 7th and 7th may still be enough to get to the nationals, but with 10th place, that’s like saying goodbye to the nationals (unless she wins the other event).
