I mean, not to get too armchair puberty expert about it, but I had gone through puberty by 16 and have been the exact same size since then. And as icky as I feel commenting on these girls' bodies like this, Kihira looks pretty physically mature already. She certainly didn't look like she was landing those 3As by being skinny yesterday; rather, she earned them with fast rotation.

All that is to say, I wouldn't be surprised if she kept the 3A for a while, at least in terms of physical ability. Headspace is a different matter.
I think the same.
Btw, I have watched Trusova’s LP from this weekend and puberty has started for her (which is the only fair thing in life, we all go through this). She sure will have to make constant adjustments as her body changes. Only time will tell how it will turn out.

Where did you see Trusova with puberty starting? Do you mean this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6v_rH5xP34E

 ... probably just got tired of being called a "nerd"... which she was....

... until now... :D

I like the new look... this girl has been through a lot, a crack in her spine in 2011, which few ever mention, including herself, a change of several partners.

She rejects diets, but supports healthy balanced eating patterns, including all kinds of sweets...
https://eda.show/iview-zabiyako/

She talks little, takes fairly few social media fotos, and works and does a lot! http://flutz.ru/wp-content/uploads/2018/06/забияко-н.jpg

Well, I think she looks beautiful with long hair and the short haircut isn’t bad either. Her fiancé is a lucky man!

She can Single White Female Ksenia all she wants, but she will never replace her for me.
I so seriously doubt that Natalia is trying and too smart to try to replicate Ksenya, let alone do it for you.....

Natalia is aiming at a spot in her husband-to-be "artsy" crowd.... ;)

Yes m'am. It has to start at one point and it's starting. How I know that? That's part of my job :EVILLE:

Finally hitting a super high and clean 4lz-3T means "start of puberty"?

Two days ago Anna Scherbakova also hit a very good and clean 4lz-3T and won Russian Cup IV... and she is not starting puberty... https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=UT5jplXCj2c

I think a few people here are interpreting the phrase 'starting puberty' to be an insult or representative of bad skating. Which is kind of odd. Growing up shouldn't be a dirty word in sports. I really think that junior skaters shouldn't be scrutinised like this. They are talked about in the same sentences as senior skaters and there is a world of difference between juniors and seniors for good reason.

Why do you think that the phrase "starting puberty" is interpreted as an insult? No one wants to insult those lovely juniors. It's rather concern. Because unfortunately, "starting puberty" is often accompanied by poorer skating.

Interesting info about Pogorilaya-Nevskaya (does not make any strategic sense to me, but oh well..)

She withdrew on Nov. 4th from Russian Nationals..
https://rsport.ria.ru/figure_skating/20181104/1145408026.html

Yet she (Pogo) registered for Golden Spin of Zagreb (today's news). Kovtun and Goubanova are also registered. Tuktamysheva was also registered, but as of today withdrew since she made the GPF.
https://www.sports.ru/figure-skating/1068697912.html
Well, it does make sense to me. She is unlikely to qualify to the nationals through Russian cups. Now that four events already took place, she would have only one event anyway, and if at the last Russian Cup skaters like Trusova, Scherbakova and Kostornaya compete, Pogogiraya could also end up out of medals. And even if she got pass for the nationals, competing at the nationals is quite a risky strategy if she is not in full competitive shape because there is so many very good skaters among Russian ladies that she could also end up out of top ten.
Whereas attending the Golden Spin of Zagreb, the competition won’t be as tough and with a bit of luck, she could get a medal. If she does very well, she may impress the Russian federation and they may invite her for the test skates next year, even if she won’t be on the team.

Z/E are attractive, but they have about as much charisma as a pile of laundry. She can Single White Female Ksenia all she wants, but she will never replace her for me.

"Single White Female Ksenia" is the most iconic thing I've seen in this thread in a long time LOL.

Natalia is a beautiful girl and a very talented skater, but she lacks sparkle, and the Ksenia cosplay is not helping. If anything, she would do better to channel Evgenia Tarasova - they both have that pretty, sweet, elegant vibe.

I so seriously doubt that Natalia is trying and too smart to try to replicate Ksenya, let alone do it for you.....

She is beautiful, but I do see the resemblance to Ksenia this season. There's nothing wrong with a skater admiring another skater and borrowing a bit of their style - you see plenty of young female pair skaters wearing purple dresses to look like Aliona Savchenko and many ice dance girls wearing costumes inspired by Tessa Virtue. It's a huge compliment to the original.

You'd have to be pretty blind to miss this resemblance: https://twitter.com/stanbova/status/995366191668649985

They both look beautiful and they have the right to wear their hair how they want. There are many, many girls with short hair in this sport - Sui, Duhamel, Vanessa James, Luba Ilyushechkina, Cheng Peng, and many more - and I think it looks really cute. But I still miss Ksenia desperately, and I guess it's just hard to see someone that reminds me a little of her but isn't her - kind of like getting sugar-free chocolate instead of the real stuff.

No.... you have to be pretty xxxxxx, xxxxx, xxxxx, to:
a) consider a hair style to be the central reason for "resemblance"
b) not know/see the ethnic differences of these two girls coming from completely different ethnic back grounds.
c) compare them based on small not very clear fotos where 1/3 of their faces covered with dark glasses..... :D

but, yeah.. they are similar enough from the distance to be hired into the same chorus-line..

Are you talking savoir my post? If yes, you misunderstood it. I am literally talking about body changes. Boobs starting to grow, body to change. My comment has nothing to do with the skating. Some skaters go through puberty without any major problem as the growth is steady. Some others grow as fast as weed and need some adjustments. I am a health care provider and I see children and teenagers all day long. I am trained in measuring the peak height velocity.

It's not exactly a new style. I greatly prefer long hair, but it's obvious why pairs skaters would do this.

:D and to my great delight, two more pairs ladies got rid of their 19th century atavism, aka "useless long hair"..

- Canadian... She looks more like Ksenya... :D

That's a R rated movie, so you're still not old enough to watch. And how in the world are you familiar with 'Single White Female'? That movie came out in 1992.

OMG I had no idea it was a line from a naughty movie, I just thought it was a reference to Natalia being a lighter-skinned version of Ksenia 🙈 oh dear Lord...

They’re not twins, but it looks like Natalia could use Ksenia’s ID to get into a bar :)

Short hair is the way to go! As I said, a lot of the pair girls are doing it lately and it looks cute.

Yes.

Just the haircut, and the free program reminds me of Stolbova/Klimov’s Notre-Dame program.

New interview from E. Buianova:
Radionova can no longer tolerate the pain, it is very difficult for her
In it she talks about Max, Elena, Polina, Anastasia and Maria ;)
So, Buianova is also stating that "Radionova has a born-with health issues and back problems"...
- У нее с детства есть проблема со здоровьем, не связанная со спортом. Всегда, когда она каталась, она постоянно с этим боролась. Она жила с этой проблемой.
- Проблемы со спиной?
- Как правило, да, но от спины происходят другие сложности.

.... and a weight control problem... "when she was young everything was easy for her, but now she needs more discipline to control herself, she (Rad) understands the problem, but now needs to act upon it"..

Gosh, imagine if this was Eteri's interview and words..... :skandal:slinkaway :yikes::rofl:

There is another Buianova article from today, where she is not very kind to Polina Tsurskaya (imo). After all she "invited her", and knew what she is getting, and now complains after less than 6 months..

Elena Buianova: "Tsurskaya has not yet learned how to express/portray emotions. Her jumps are well set, but absolutely no understanding/feeling of/for emotions.".
https://www.sports.ru/figure-skating/1068748518.html

Buianova says that Tsurskaya's programmes, even in juniors, were always "in minor" (gloomy) and that Polina never had the "happy personality" (on ice) and was emphasising her athleticism, not emotions. Buianova had little time to work on Polina's programmes before the start of the season, so she asked Tarasova to work on Polina's programmes. Yet Polina is hard to change, she did it her way for 10 years, and some skaters do not easily change. Polina is uptight (too reserved) and lacks confidence. But Tarasova believes she can change that. As a junior Polina had more confidence, but now as a woman it is hard for her. The skater's career is very short, so Buianova hopes and wishes that Polina better learn quickly.
