Wait. :skandal So (the rumor is) Morozov's own daughter isn't coached by him now, and is to be coached by Elena Ilynikh of all people? Or Elena is just fine with him now/doesn't hate him, and they'll joint-coach Annabelle? That makes SO much sense. Aha! Moment (no.)

Nothing surprises me anymore. Maybe Shae Lynn can do their programs. :coffee:

Seriously...if this is true, Ilinykh and Morozov are putting Game of Thrones to shame.
Of course it is not true. I think it would be as likely as Ilynikh deciding that Morozov was not as bad lover and stealing him from Davankova. Imagine that, Davankova and Ilynikh fighting for Morozov. Not gonna happen.

Annabelle DID do some work with Shae some months ago. She seems like a lovely girl, and on good terms with all of Morozov's former girlfriends/wives. And Elena is still very fond of her, she posted some pictures a few months ago. And its not even clear what coaching entails, like Shae she may just be giving a few pointers to a sweet girl that looks up to her.

It's very mature for all adults involved. It's still strange as @$*#! and I can't help but kind of love it and find it heartwarming. Skating can unify all relationship problems/love triangles as long as there's someone talented out there who wants to learn. Why not get them all involved somehow, Annabelle can create the ultimate Morozov karma and learn from all of them! :watch: :cheer:

(I don't buy this rumor in the slightest. But again nothing surprises me now, so I'm ready for the article to come out)

OMG! You know what happened?
I don't know the details, Liza did not explain why on her askfm. But she did say she left by her choice.

Veronika Daineko is Kutovoy's (Liza's cousin) coach and formerly part of Mishin's group. But as I understand from what Liza said, Daineko is now in Moskvina's group. Moskvina has singles skaters in her group now. Again, rather confusing stuff, since Liza didn't really explain in detail.

Neither Liza, Gumennik nor Kutovoy went to Mishin's training camp in Estonia in mid May, so I guess they had already transfered out by then. As they say, no smoke without fire.

Pretty sure the info about Annabelle & Elena came from Max Kovtun who is at Novogorsk now, and I don't see why he would make up such a story out of nowhere. I don't think it's strange that Elena would help her at all. Is she supposed to hold a grudge against anyone related to Nikolai for the rest of their lives? She may not even have an issue with him after all this time...people do move on (except on skating forums, I guess).

Anyway, skaters work with all kinds of different specialists in the summer; it could just be for a few weeks.

Well, if it's between him trying ice dance and never skating again, then I would obviously like to see him on ice. Who is coaching them? Maybe it won't work out, but as they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained. I wonder if he ever practiced with his girlfriend.

It is not as if Davankova was better off with her partner Shibnev. The bottom line is, both Morozova and Davankova are relatively new to ice dance, so potential partners were not queueing to partner them. They may be in stronger position in a few years time, if they prove themself as promising, or they will have to do the best with what they have.

maybe they think Mishin is too old to coach (and travel) many young and talented skaters because Mishin has Carolina, Liza, Petrov....

If you are talking about getting enough attention from Mishin, then little Liza was maybe 3rd in the order of priorities.

But it's true that Mishin has far too many students now. In the week leading up to Russian Nationals, he wasn't with his Russian students helping them prepare, he was in Italy with Carolina. At the final competition of the season in St Petersburg where several of his Russian students were competing, he wasn't there either. He was with Zijun at World Team Trophy. There are other examples. I guess their parents had had enough.

It's all very heartwarming of course... But I just don't understand how Mr. Sleazebag was able to get all these wonderful, beautiful and seemingly intelligent women to fall in love with him.

By producing strong pheromones. If the chemistry is on his side, the women did not have a chance!
Or maybe he is a wizard who is very capable with the Confundus charm. All he needs to say is 'Confundo!' and the job is done.

But wasn't Gumennik primarily coached by Tataurov anyway?

So Adian is really her new partner? Not sure what to say, was really hoping Adian's injuries would get better and he could come back, he was my favourite out of the up and coming junior men.

Adian had back problems and he is not the biggest/strongest/tallest skater out there, so I wonder about that decision. Ice dance lifts are really demanding these days. But I will be happy if he can continue skating and enjoys it.

Annabelle Morozov, now 16, only competed once for France -- 8th in Junior Ladies at Mentor Torun Cup in January 2016.
That still means that France would have to release her, and even though thye don't really have a reason to hold her, she is still ice dance beginner, France has not been very good with releasing their skaters. It may be easier for Bukin to get release.

When I was in Tartu I talked to Mishin and he told me that he did not take Lisa Nugumanova and Petr Gummenik to the training camp because of disciplinary reasons. According to him, Lisa was not listening anymore and she and her mother thought apparently she is a big star. As for Petia, he said that the mother is a problem ("skating mom").

Veronika Dainenko indeed is coaching singles in the new ice rink where Tamara Moskvina's school is now based. I saw her there with Andrei Kutuvoi in May.
