I really really hate forced ads for original content on a streaming service.
If we're talking streaming service peeves, I'm getting really annoyed with the services which are doing their best to hide the 'continue watching' section. On some you have to scroll so far to find it that I sometimes think it's missing completely. I'm sure it's because they want people to see more of what they have to offer, but honestly, if I'm looking for something to watch I'll go looking. But when it's late and I just want to watch on episode of something I've already started, having to hunt for it is just irritating.

Well, Alex Borstein had her Emmy episode of "Mrs. Maisel," and now Tony Shalhoub has had his. He did a beautiful job with that dinner scene.

I hope Max comes out with a promo price for their new name because my current promo subscription ends Monday. I need to see the Succession finale next week!

I like this new layout. I don't do streaming, so this makes it easier to look only for the major network programs.

Gordon Ramsay's Food Stars looks like an interesting premise for a show. But it's not my kind of program, especially with the vile Ramsay involved.

Missing has been released on Netflix and that movie is worth the price of admission. This is a fast-paced, clever, get your popcorn ready mystery that has plenty of twists and turns as we follow our young sleuth who tries to unravel everything online. Because of the online premise I wasn't sure I'd be entertained. Boy as I wrong---two hours well spent.

Finished Queen Charlotte and really enjoyed it. I already knew I'd have to ignore historical inaccuracies, so I thought they made it into a sweet story.

Back to The Diplomat. I'm watching both the UK and US shows with the same title. The US one is way better.

Smartless on the Road (MAX) is well worth your time, laugh out loud funny and a testament to enduring friendship. Sean Hayes, Will Arnett and Jason Bateman take their popular podcast on the road to several cities with plenty of time focused on relationships between shows. I was going to watch an hour and I binged the series. Both sardonic and uplifting…

We're watching One Tree Hill on Prime and enjoying it. The portrayal of a sporting dad (actually both a sporting dad and that dad's relationship with his own sporting dad), and the effects it has on the athlete and their family, is excellent. In this case it's a basketball player.

Fun fact for anyone watching Sullivan's Crossing: Lucas on One Tree Hill is the same actor as Cal Jones on Sullivan's Crossing (Chad Michael Murray), just twenty years older. I would never have recognized him, but my partner pointed it out to me.

Also enjoying Chuck on Prime. It's a sort of Superstore crossed with an action movie starring a female and male protagonist.

Lastly, Bob Hearts Abishola on CTV, is very good too.

20/20 recently aired a phenomenal episode: It Happened Here -- A Year in Uvalde. ABC shows air on Hulu, right? If you watch it, have a box of Kleenex close by. I cried a LOT while watching this show. ❤️

We are in the middle of re-watching Chuck and really enjoying it. Husband and I know we watched the whole series previously but we both seem to have completely blocked out half a season, so some episodes feel like we're watching them for the first time.

I'm also watching Mrs Davis. I'm up to episode 6 and still can't decide whether or not I like it. It's compltely bonkers regardless.

PBS has a bunch of documentaries free of charge on YouTube. I have watched quite a few and the latest was on someone I have never heard of before named Elizebeth Friedman. A life long code breaker who help bring down the mob and the Nazis! FASCINATING woman! If you don’t know what to watch, check out these documentaries on YouTube! You won’t be sorry! :cheer2:

I watched the whole thing and still feel the same way. It's totally bonkers but there's something about it that compels me to love it. I still don't understand what I watched but it's so original. I'm still thinking about it now long after finishing it and am still conflicted. lol

I thoroughly enjoyed A Small Light which just finished its run on National Geographic - I think you can watch it on Disney+ too. I thought it was top notch - great acting and production. I wasn't familiar with Miep Gies who helped hide Anne Frank and family and this series made me fall in love with her and her husband Jan. It was heartbreaking to watch, but also beautiful at the same time.

The 3 female leads of the series have a podcast where they break down each episode, do interviews, and talk about behind the scenes events particularly the working environment of the series.

I love that podcast! Sophia Bush has her own podcast called “Work in Progress” where she interviews some really prominent trailblazers in various fields (not just entertainment). She is terrific.

Good to know she took on some other challenges and did well with them. (Just read that she was married to Chad Michael Murray (Lucas in One Tree Hill) for a couple of years, while the show was being filmed, and they divorced a year later, also during the show's run.)

American Born Chinese has been released on Disney.

Jin Wang is an average teenager balancing high school and home life. When he meets a new foreign student on the first day of the school, even more worlds collide as Jin is unwittingly entangled in a battle with Chinese mythological gods.

Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan team up again which means I will watch it no matter what. It will mostly be focused on the two teenage boys though. I believe that the new kid is the Monkey King's son in hiding after stealing the mythical staff.

So on one of our channels here that got the rights to show HBO series just dumped all the seasons of "The Wire.
A series which debuted in 2002 apparently and I may be the last person to hear about this show.

But my husband and I are halfway through series 2 now and I am loving this show. So well done. So if there exists anyone else who has never heard of this show before and has access to it I highly recommend giving it a go. I have read some say it takes a few episodes to get into it so if that applies to you don't give up. The fact that I LOATHE Dominic West and hate watch him in general is a testament to the quality of this series.

I like that The CW has been airing TV shows from different countries over the last few years. I already watched the British production The Rising on the W Network in Canada, it was quite good. Curious to see what the Australian show Barons will be like. Hopefully the story is good, but it might be watchable just for all the hot surfer eye candy... :swoon:

I had heard of it but haven’t watched it or The Soprano’s yet. :shuffle: They are both on my list to watch, especially since the writer’s strike will prevent a lot of new stuff. With all the streaming services I am trying to stick to finishing a series before starting a new one.

IMHO the best show ever made—so truthful about the life of a city written by successful authors/writers who were not writing scripts or screenplays before “The Wire.” Their talent shines in this series. And so well cast—how do you like Omar? Detective Bunk Moreland? Stringer Bell? God what a cast.

Has anyone else been watching the FX/Hulu docuseries “The Secrets of Hillsong?” The last two episodes dropped last night. It’s pretty fascinating and disturbing - especially the Frank and Brian Houston stuff.

The interviews with Carl and Laura Lentz in the second episode were kinda hard to watch. I felt that Carl still seemed “lost” about what happened, and his disheveled look made it worse.
