Oh God. Did I say that last year's Eurovision was the worst one in years? I was so terribly wrong. This year is the winner. Have almost finished listening to the album (which I was so unlucky to preorder on iTunes, you know - collection and such, I am a bit fixed on such things) and out of all songs there are only 3 that I will (probably) remember - Loin d'ici (Austria started singing in French and did completely right, France apparently lost French and started singing half in English when there's no real obvious reason for it), Irish boy (it seems like Ireland was intent on sending top model to Stockholm this year - they succeeded. He fits in with what the crowd expects to see, the song is melodic somewhat, but does it really matter when there's such a cutie on stage?) and yes, Lazarev.
As much as I'd openly and expressly hate Lazarev winning this year, I have to admit that against the backdrop of all the trash he does have a chance. A real one. But I hope something else crops up so we don't have to spend money on this show next year as it can be redirected elsewhere, considering the troubled days.
Surprised by Iceland's entry. Visually pleasing, but, in my point of view, there's neither song nor voice.
What I will remember though is the amount of extremely vociferous singers and bands this year. It really seems like shouting is all the rage at the moment, just like string instruments were at the time of Fairytale. Not Rona Nishliu like, luckily, neither me nor my glassware would have survived such an attack.
