A five-point deduction for Clare -- yikes. :yikes: Into 3rd overall. Maddie Schizas has the lead going into the final group.
Whoa. I missed that. All I saw was her score and I thought to myself "whelp, she's not getting that SkAm TBD host spot this year" and flipped back to a different browser window, lol.

Final warm-up group is on the ice!

A way a skater is likely getting 5 points in deductions is if there’s a temporary interruption of 3+ minutes. The falls go 1, 1, 2, 2 so there’s no way to get to 5 solely that way. Of course, she could’ve had 3 falls and then another one-point deduction for costuming or going over time.

Another board I was looking at said Clare had a couple of falls and maybe also a time deduction. We'll have to see the protocols before we know for sure, I guess.

Sarah’s ahead of Isabeau overall.

ETA- watched Levito’s short and yeah, the same jump entry issues but really glorious, fluid skating.

huh I really want to see these videos (although Isabeau seemed to go up and down last season too but she had it when it counted)

Everhardt wins!!! :cheer2:
I like this result! Elyce is next in line on the GP Alternates list (well, 2nd after Aoki who won't get any unless another JPN lady WDs). Chances are very good that Elyce gets at least 1 GP if not 2 because of her high ranking on the Alternates list and this gives Everhardt a GP. I love putting two new women out on the GP instead of re-treading with middling skaters like Andrews & Seo.

Everhardt and Lin-Gracey's scores here today would have them on the SB Top 24 list from last season, FYI (so does Isabeau's, in case anyone is worried/wondering, lol).

Protocols: https://ijs.usfigureskating.org/lea...------FNL-000100--_JudgesDetailsperSkater.pdf

Isabeau had a time violation; without it she would have been second. Clare had three falls plus a time violation.

Oh, and Isabeau also had an invalid spin at the end. I missed that before.

Nice result for Everhardt but nothing special technically, just 2A+3T and 3Lo+2A, both in the first half. I guess it’s smart to play it safe with the SkAm slot on the line, but she needs upgrades later in the season. 3t3t is going to bury her in the short, and this free skate content isn’t enough to make up for deficits.

I’m disappointed to see no “ultra” element attempts from anyone except Kalin. I guess skaters and their coaches are banking on Russia being banned forever and the current crop of juniors flaming out before becoming age eligible.

Levito gave away points all over both programs between missing levels and invalid spins. Looks like she’s going for a marginal increase in base value by swapping out a loop for a flip in the second half. Also appears to be going for 3F+eu+3S (double here), presumably to avoid GOE risk if the lutz gets called. I did think the takeoff edge looked better in the short.

I’m curious if Schizas’s tech content what what she intended? Six triples with only the toe repeated? Not as bad as Andrews’s 1980s content, but Schizas looks stuck in the early 90s.
