Maybe you need to step away from the thread if it so upsets you to have someone called to the mat for their insane and offensive views.
I think the world needs more empathy, but it's dangerous to brush her ignorant considerations off as caused by trauma. Even if it's possibly true, it removes her from a fair bit of accountability. Which I'm not a fan of, especially when you seem to have more of a problem with her son fairly calling his mom stupid, rather than the garbage she spews.
How unbelievably sad. She didn't have an "awakening" in February 2021, she had a breakdown.
I won't subscribe to the wacko site she interviewed for, so I only kow what I read here... Did she lose custody of the little girl, the younger child? Or is she in a battle for custody with Craig Simpson? What a total shitshow...

I hope someone is doing wellness checks on her....
I wonder if her obtuse and uninformed views pushed the marriage to its crisis, or if it was already faltering and the breakup caused her to crack. I have sympathy for her if it's the latter. As per previous comments, she seemed like a genuinely giving person (Special Olympics etc) and the stuff she retweets is probably impossible for her to grasp in the magnitude of how stupid and unselfaware it is, and therefore makes her look. It's really hard being around a person who "doesn't know what they don't know". We've all have that experience. We're socialized to try and argue/discuss our point of view with these people when, really, we just want to say "you're stupid."

The pandemic has really exposed and deepened all the cracks in marriages & partnerships. I don't know how strong their marriage was pre-pandemic, but obviously they weren't able to make it work anymore. It started with the whole anti-vaxx stand and became only worse from that. Unfortunately she choose to go down that rabbit hole, and doesn't seem to care about how it affects her loved ones. That's what makes this so sad.

Jamie has never been the brightest bulb. I said this after the 2002 Olympics and a dozen time since. A lot of her issues unfortunately come from that space. I feel terrible for her kids.

Jamie Sale is just one of too many (especially from that region of Canada) who have fallen down the MAGA/Qanon rabbit hole and it frankly saddens and even terrifies me what I see happening. I know this thread is about her specifically but since there are likely lurkers with actual connections to elite Canadian skaters I am going to throw out a plea that you use your connections in sport and beyond to get Canadians with platforms to band together and try and do something about this.
Use Sale as a focal point if needed to address the bigger issue and get the ball rolling but do something beyond a tweet and an OMG she blocked me. There are too many people like Jamie who are ripe for the picking and getting swept up in this but if Canadians who are loved and respected from all walks of life gather together to talk compassionately about this issue and problem then you might just have an impact. You might just make it harder for people like Pierre Poilievre (and his ilk) to capitalise on this movement. If I had the platform some of these skaters do I would want to try. This is the only platform I have (aside from my vote) but no one is going to listen to me on a national level but we need more than just our vote because we currently have a democratically elected government in Canada that people like Jamie are trying to topple.. So we need more, we need Canadians with a public platform to do their part.

They saw that the Canadian prime minister froze bank accounts for people who don't want a vaccine of which they question the science. Their body their choice, and Jamie was an advocate for it. Honestly, it's strange how singularly focused so many people are of Jaime Sale!If only it were that easy marbri! Agreed, I think the people who contributed to the GFM for the truck convoy were upset that it fell apart on them. The organizer already has a history of taking the $$ and running.

Neither do I. It was just a joke.
I won't listen to the most recent interview with Jamie on principle, but she has also alienated David as I understand it? Jeez, I thought maybe he was being patiently empathetic to her mental health struggles, especially as he has to deal with an angry and probably grief stricken son who doesn't even recognize the mother he used to know. What a "treat" for David, now in a new marriage.
And what about the younger child, who considers David a father figure too. She's lost her brother, father and "father".....and mother. This gets sadder all the time.

It was the leaders of the convoy that got blocked plus it was temporary. My bank account was fine.

So the latest was she reposted an article from Rebel News showing a cartoon Of a man being pregnant. That set off the comments from the skaters. Come on. Men cannot get pregnant. It’s like these people going down into such a deep rabbit hole. It’s being used to attack gay, transgender, queer etc etc. it’s awful .. like a descent into some madness.
