Artur Dmitriev's short program jump combination.

BIG thanks to @antmanb for posting the 2 video links (both cued up to the 3Lz+3F combo) in the Nebelhorn Trophy Men's SP thread yesterday:
Oh my goodness I couldn't believe that when I read it, here's the link. The triple lutz with that deliberate LBI landing was soooooooo well done: https://youtu.be/0VSdHeQQmCY?t=68

And the slow mo of it: https://youtu.be/0VSdHeQQmCY?t=269

I don't understand the negative GOEs at all! Did some judges think he changed feet in order to do the combo?

ETA: @gkelly over the years we've talked about a combination rather than a sequence ending in a flip or sal without a half loop in between and here it is!
3Lz+3F has 11.20 base value and Dmitriev received +0.24 with GOEs ranging from -2 to +2 (2 -1 1 2 -2 -1 1) = 11.44 points.

Though this allows for a higher base score (harder second jump), the downside is how it affects the GOE, since technically the first jump is landed on the incorrect edge. Meaning it would be impossible to receive really high GOE for the element, even if executed flawlessly.

The first jump in a combination (with more than one revolution) can be landed on either foot per the rules, so there shouldn't be an automatic GOE reduction applied for landing on the wrong edge if such a combination were executed "flawlessly" (when landing on the opposite foot, the inside edge would be the correct landing edge).

I wonder why there is no bonus for fighting your instinct or muscle memory and landing a jump on the other foot or edge. These kinds of innovative risk-taking should be rewarded, not marked down.

They make it a feature when you spin in both directions, and it used to be a feature that you start with the back spin first. I wonder why this doesn't extend to jumps.
