The Australian skating federation has said it had “no prior knowledge” that one of its most high-profile athletes was being investigated in the U.S., and that officials only became aware of his sanction after it was published in May. At the time, Kerry was coaching skaters in Sydney. His rink there said that “while these matters are under further investigation, Brendan has been stood down.”
SafeSport’s chief executive Ju’Riese Colón said that the Center isn’t allowed to share information with similar investigative bodies internationally, and that she has asked Congress to change that.
