Thanks @Maofan7 . Yes we went to Chichen Itza. It is amazing! Next post will be about Mexican folk art and the cenotes, but the one after will be about the Mayan ruins - Chichen Itza, Palenque, Ek Balam, and Edzna. Got goose bumps at Chichen Itza!Great photo's.
Did you get a chance to visit the Mayan ruins at Chichen Itza as well? The El Castillo (Temple of Kukulcan) is an incredible site. Mayan architecture is amazing.

New blog post: The ancient Maya Civilization. We visited the ruins of four ancient cities. Those guys sure knew how to build a big pile of rocks!

@alilou - check out this episode of Ironside (at 28 minutes 6 seconds in - called 'in search of an artist' made in 1968, televised in 1969). Look familiar?
Oh it's a hoot - it's a caricature of Mexico about 50 years ago! And those men in the "field" with the few spindly stalks of corn - not quite the way it is now anyway.@alilou - check out this episode of Ironside (at 28 minutes 6 seconds in - called 'in search of an artist' made in 1968, televised in 1969). Oh I completely missed that! I had another look and noticed the church in the distance. I would never have recognised it as San Miguel. The city has become a HUGE tourist attraction. At 28 minutes 6 seconds in, it shows the same road in San Miguel de Allende as in this very old photograph that I showed you a few months ago in post 178. Unfortunately, the youtube copy of the Ironside episode is very poor quality. On my DVD copy, I recognised the road immediately! Just goes to show what a tourist attraction that city has become. I doubt the producers filmed that footage specifically for that episode, as it looks like some stock footage they have just inserted in
