2026 Worlds Mens SP - Czech-ered His-tory

Weird music cut right before the combo - since we've heard this song several times this season, it was even more noticeable to me. Good for Zandron for going clean in his final skate.

I see lots of people in the audience all bundled up in toques and scarves. Good to see that Nova Scotia isn't the only place STILL having snow .... almost every freakin' day. (sigh) Overall, I don't mind winter weather but this "just enough to ensure that you have to clean off your car and clear the walkway" this late in March is bordering on "harrassment!"

It'll be interesting to see who makes the FS. Last year the lowest score to make the FS was 73.00 - we'll see if bar will be higher or lower than that. Even if Daniliants doesn't make the FS he's improved his SP score from Worlds last year by 20 points!

Daniliants really struggled to deliver in SP when it mattered lately (Worlds 25 and Beijing qualifier), it's good to see him finally produce a decent SP skate at a major championship. I see he changed coaching camps. His ISU bio now lists Alexei Vasilevski and Julia Lavrenchuk as coaches. He was previously with Alexander Volkov and Martine Dagenais.

Groups 3 and 4 must stand up without my input. I hope to be back for the big (but likely less interesting) boys.

Okay ... a short break now. Time to make the bed and grab some cereal/juice. Be rght back.

I did not even realize that Lavrenchuk was coaching anyone these days! Blast from the past for sure.
