2026 Olys Womens SP PBP - Cheated Rivalry

Petrosian's comments in the mixed zone as transcribed by Golden Skate: https://x.com/goldenskate/status/2023829718311530938
Adeliia Petrosian (AIN) 72.89

“From my feeling, it was very calm. I really enjoyed my performance, and I hope the spectators enjoyed it as well. Mentally and psychologically, I was calm. I wasn’t nervous. These are my first Olympic Games, so I don’t feel any big pressure. We’ll see how it goes in the free skate.”

On her coach being at the boards:
“When I learned that my coach could be with me at the boards, I was very happy. It means I have more familiar people around me, and that makes it easier for me. I feel more support that way. He helped me focus on my performance. I think he was more nervous than I was. And I’m happy that I didn’t disappoint him.”

On her score:
“I’m quite pleased with my score. It’s good, and I’m happy with it.”

On staying outside the Olympic Village:
“I’m not staying in the Olympic Village. We are staying in an apartment not far from here. It’s easier to get to the rink — I can even walk or take a cab. I’m staying with my mom, and I don’t think she would have been able to stay with me in the Olympic Village.”

On competing against well-known skaters like Kaori, Alysa, Amber:
“I hope to be in the same warm-up group with them. I haven’t really seen them yet because we are all in different practice groups. But it would be nice to be in the same warm-up group and compete against them.”

Has CBC been calling Petrosian "Russian" all day? I know she is, but isn't she here as a (supposedly) neutral athlete?

Sure is. I was showing my 8-year-old grandson Riku and Ryuichi's TE FS on the weekend and he couldn't wrap his head around WHY, if they lived in Canada and trained in Canada, they didn't skate FOR Canada instead of Japan. When I explained that they were born in Japan, he just kept saying, "Yes, but they moved to Canada." Bless him, he has no idea how very much there is about figure skating that most of us will NEVER understand.
Lol that's sweet. Half the elite ice dancers in the world would end up skating for Canada :D

I'm not a fan of Lorine's sheer blue-ish tights. I get that they match the top of the costume and all but I think it's the dark blue seam down the insides of the legs that bothers me.

Im starting to see the transformation I saw in Kostner right about the same age in Repond. More control of her limbs, better lines with her arms, better posture. A lot of improvement. Too bad about that flip.

They have. Brenda Irving is the one doing it and she's been mentioning where the skaters are originally from throughout the Olympics but she definitely focuses on it more with the Russians and the Russians who have relocated since the invasion.

What is this music? The Feeling Continues?
Looks like Kimmy's finally growing into her limbs

Repond
Finally a long-torsoed dress for a long-torsoed skater. Much better for not having an outright waistband. As an Austinite, i can vaguely appreciate the UT color of her dress. But burnt orange is not a color that I like.
Nice lines, slow. A lot of yellow.

Change Foot Combo Spin 3

Step Sequence 4
Flying Camel Spin 3

Layback Spin 3

Repond with some good elements, but the lack of rotation on the combination will hurt her score.

Q SP: 59.20 = 6th Place
