I was showing my 8-year-old grandson Riku and Ryuichi's TE FS on the weekend and he couldn't wrap his head around WHY, if they lived in Canada and trained in Canada, they didn't skate FOR Canada instead of Japan. When I explained that they were born in Japan, he just kept saying, "Yes, but they moved to Canada." Bless him, he has no idea how very much there is about figure skating that most of us will NEVER understand.

Im starting to see the transformation I saw in Kostner right about the same age in Repond. More control of her limbs, better lines with her arms, better posture. A lot of improvement. Too bad about that flip.

They have. Brenda Irving is the one doing it and she's been mentioning where the skaters are originally from throughout the Olympics but she definitely focuses on it more with the Russians and the Russians who have relocated since the invasion.

Finally a long-torsoed dress for a long-torsoed skater. Much better for not having an outright waistband. As an Austinite, i can vaguely appreciate the UT color of her dress. But burnt orange is not a color that I like.
Nice lines, slow. A lot of yellow.
