For the most part, I enjoy voiceovers and find them to be delightfully cheesy. But the skater also has to be able to lean into the cheese to really pull it off. Gubanova is a very serious skater, so in her case I feel like the program would be better without the voiceovers.

It's been hard to be a Gubanova fan ever since she was cheated out of her trip to junior worlds. Ups and downs. She trains next to Anna Frolova who is having an excellent mature skater career and I hoped she would do the same. She'll get dinged for the URs but I still love her. Sometimes it's really hard. But, I'm happy for her today.
