Still have the same thoughts about Torgashev as I've had for a few seasons now, so I'll tell the same old story.

I watched him come up from juniors and really thought he'd be fighting for the 2018 Olympic team. I thought he was that good, I thought his basics were amazing and he was really committed to his programs.

His sweeping, wonderful basics are still there, but the commitment to the program just isn't what it once was. He's giving this program more than he did earlier in the year, but dare I say it comes across as if he's completely bored a lot of the time?

So much of the long edges and the easy flow he gets remind me of Alexander Abt, at least in Abt's first two minutes of his skates. Then he truck driver plowed down the ice huffing and puffing to do a simple triple toe.
