I know many here haven't followed the Russian skaters, but there is a skater who is doing what Ilia is doing and if all goes well, they'll compete head-to-head at the Olympics which will be an amazing contest. He's pushed the envelope and now others are beginning to follow his lead, which is what makes sport interesting. Or it is for me.

That was an example of when a fall does not interrupt a program's feel. I liked the punch of frustration, it worked lyrically. He didn't need that other 3A and he has absolutely no fear gene for that flip. It looked odd in the take off and he still lands it on one foot.

Imagine if we get a situation where we have Shaidorov, Fa, Malinin, Yuma in the final group. I'm having pre-vapors just thinking about it. You know, men's is my least favorite discipline but the competition level is so high, I can't even make snarky comments on FSU
