2025 Skate Canada Pairs SP PBP - Carmina BOO-rana

That was a beautiful loop.

This team hasn't done it for me in the past, but I like them tonight.

Of course the spins were sloooow.

The CBC sports player is just slightly behind the Dailymotion feed. I have on up on the big screen TV and one on the laptop :)

More dynamic from them than I've ever seen but he still hasn't gone back to basics and neither has she for that matter. His SBS was for sure << landing forward. SBS spins were good. But he's another one that is so distracting in that it looks like he can't be on one skate for more than a split second.

Nice entry into the death spiral, though!

ETA- Salchow didn't look quite as bad in replay

Kelly Ann Laurin/Loucas Ethier 🇨🇦

Solid technical, particularly the throw, and some good performance quality.

LaurEth - 3tw - decent; SBS 3s - both of them hands down & he wasn't close to around fully; throw 3lo - really nice; lift - quite nice; SBS spins - good synch, pretty well done overall; this music has taken a bit of a dark turn; step seq - decent; BIDS - also nice. Program sort of ends with a whimper though, musically. Doesn't leave much of an impression.

I guess the massive support bandage on Kelly Ann’s left knee is why Laurin/Ethier have been MIA so far this season.

I really liked this program for Kelly Ann and Loucas. Some messiness on the jumps, but amazing unison on the SBS and loved the death spiral timed with the music.

Loved the Swiss height on throws and the twist.

We don't usually get trick or treaters here (there are gluten free macaroons and sugar free Peppermint Patties if they do come - they're welcome to them!), but I just realized I left the garbage cans out. Bad night for that

I never get trick or treaters so I don’t buy candy anymore
We never get them either but Mr Mac always buys candy. Not this year though. I need chocolate! :(

Same

Not their senior debut - they were at Worlds in Boston last year but didn't make the FS. GP debut, though, and they'll certainly be in line for 2 GPs next season, I think.
They were very impressive. It sounds like we aren't going see them again on the GP circuit. Is there a way they can get a 2nd assignment?

The Canadian team doesn't do it for me. They have a clunky look.

Repeat program. Nothing too fabulous with it but I enjoy their skating. He especially hits great positions in the SBS spins and I think their choreography is a big step up from even the Swiss.

SBS mistake aside, I think they should be first.

ChtWoz - 3tw - very nice; SBS 3t - he flipped out on the landing, hers was iffy; throw 3f - nice recovery; SBS spins - synch is off and the camera angle makes it hard to gauge the distance between them; lift - really exquisite & smooth; BIDS - good; step seq - she's selling the hell out of the program despite the issues with the SBS jumps and I can't complain, lol.

C/W

Some nice personality at start, but it never went anywhere. Elements looked more like work than the Swiss. Really out of sync on SBS jumps.
