Reel Around the Sun just seems way too fast for the Poles and they were kind of a mess throughout. At least one of their lift entrances brings her skate so close to his face I actually got a little scared for a second.

It’s good music, it’s just a lot of it this year. That was why I mentioned it.

It’s good music, it’s just a lot of it this year. That was why I mentioned it.

Yes, it is kinda strange the resurgence of it the last few seasons after seeing it next to nowhere for almost 2 decades!

It was all over the place in the late 90s and early 2000s... even Chengjiang Li from China was Irish dancing through the end of his free skate.

As I've noted before in other threads - last year was the 30th anniversary of Riverdance - the programs are because of the push the show was getting due to the anniversary.

I think he’s a good partner for her, because she’s so intense and he seems to just take things as they come so it balances her out.

Please no, the lifts are already so ugly in order to hit levels, and the levels are why we get the ugly grab leg death spiral. They require so much complexity that we end up with super messy programs as pairs try to meet the requirements.

Laurin/Ethier - This music is very Canadian pairs. Lots of angsty faces. Everything just a bit sticky - it’s clear they’re behind in their preparation for this point in the season.

Have you seen the JGP? It’s now or never for this team.

It could be close. Big difference in points after the SP but the PCS here should not be near the Brits.

That said, the Canadians have improved TREMENDOUSLY. Search my name and Ethier and you will find me ranting endlessly about how terrible his basics have been the last 3 or so seasons. He's stepped it up. Not as glaringly bad now.

Just a few too many errors today, and the program didn't connect as intended.

LaurEth - 3tw - fine; SBS 3s - hand down for Kelly Ann not clean, Chris; SBS 2a+seq+A - hand down and I question her rotation on the 2a; first lift - fine; throw 3lo - very nice; second lift - fine; last lift - also fine; throw 3s - hand down again; BODS - missed it because of Bandit; combo spin - as slow as the music, so I guess it's fine; choreo seq - underwhelming end to another bland program.

I'd have them behind VLDigs both in the FS and overall.
