2025 ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Boston

This may already be in the thread somewhere, but there’s a pretty good selection of pre-packaged food at the Star Market next to the arena - salads, sandwiches, charcuterie boxes, etc. There are places on the sidewalk where you can sit and eat. I spotted the ladies in the pink jackets out there earlier, so I’ve had my celebrity sighting for the day.

For those of you with bags, at least for today, there is a wooden box before you go inside that you have to drop your bag down in. If it fits, you’re good. Mine was not searched at all.

WTF, this isn't Miss Universe. Stop with this ridiculousness already.

(I mean, the ISU should stop. You keep on snarking @peibeck ✊)
Well, Miss Universe doesn't have a Leaders Chair or anything close to it.

However, these are professional athletes and I'm fine with the current leader sitting out in the open for the last two groups. They have been through far worse than sitting in front of an audience of 20k people for 90 minutes max as the competition progresses. If they can't figure out how to regulate their emotions for that time period, they've got no business competing in elite sports.

I can assure you that after skating a challenging program, the last thing most skaters will want to do is to have to sit in a chair in the KnC and be on full public display, especially for a long time.

It's got nothing to do with controlling emotions. They're sweaty and uncomfortable. They want to walk around, cool down, wipe themselves off, maybe take their skates off for a while, and relax. Forcing them to sit in a CPAP throne and be watched every second is really absurd.

All of THIS! At least with the green room situation for the top 3, they could decompress, eat, drink, stretch, take their skates off, chat, etc. during the spurts of downtime off camera as each program was airing. The leader chair is a really awkward, impractical idea.

Has anyone purchased the program for the event? Does it have all the skaters in it like the US Nationals Program? For reasons I fail to understand I always like to track the scores (and then do nothing with this info)

I apologize for asking, but the no re-entry policy does that also mean you can’t enter for the first time after the competition has started? So e.g. skip the first two groups of the Women’s short and enter after that? I won’t be in time to make it for the first group so I wonder if I can still enter the arena (on an all-event ticket). Thanks for your help.

I got one yesterday. It does not. It highlights 8 per discipline

No, you can come whenever you get there. So you can’t come and watch the first 2 groups, leave and come back for the last group. But if you get there after 2 groups that’s fine

Tell me you are a skating fan without telling me you are a skating fan! Women at breakfast brought out sandwich size zip lock bags and filled them with muffins, scones, bagels and yogurt. She artfully arranged the bags in her pants and coat pockets and out the door she went.

No it doesn’t have that info - my friend bought it and is mad. It does have some articles.

You can enter late, but at some point after the midway point of an event they do let the staff working the gate move on to other things. Should you be super late, just find an employee and start begging.

agree, can't we just have a little photo of the leader in the corner while the scores are being posted? like is the presence of the leader supposed to be some kinda motivation for the ones taking the ice?
