From GS' summary for Ilia's press phone interview (below). Is Boston famous for pastries? (Sorry if I missed if someone mentioned this upthread). Can someone recommend any pastry shops? :saint: (no, my intent is not to trying to see skaters - I need a break from my work there, lol)

While his main focus remains on the competition next week, Malinin hopes to explore Boston’s culinary scene, particularly the city’s famed pastry shops. He aims to balance relaxation with mental preparation on the day between programs.

For cannoli… Mike’s or Modern
For traditional Italian… see cannoli and add Bova which is 24 hours
For gelato… North End Creamery, Cafe Paradiso, and Cafe Vittoria
You can stuff yourself silly just walking down Salem or Hanover Street

Hi, I'm new to this forum and have already gotten great info from everyone over the past couple of months while I've been lurking. I will be attending this year for the first time with an All Event pass. Feels like forever since I bought the tickets and now it's so close! I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping someone can answer.

1. Where/when can we get the actual skate order for all the sessions? (I just saw the practice schedule above - thanks!) For all events that's a lot of competition and I'm not sure I'll have the stamina for all of it as much as I would like to support all the skaters.
2. I'll be there a couple of days early and will be checking out some different restaurants for dinner in about a 3 mile radius from The Colonade in the Back Bay area. I'm traveling solo and feel more comfortable with taxis at night rather than walking, the T, or Uber. Is it somewhat easy to find cabs?

For the competition, I'll be able to use the shuttle they are providing so that's comforting.

Appreciate any info!

The Draws for the Short Programs/Rhythm Dance don't happen until the day before each of those competitions. Usually the starting orders are posted on the live results page within an hour of the completion of the draw. (link should be here when it goes live on Tuesday - https://results.isu.org/results/season2425/wc2025/)

Women's SP draw is Tuesday from 1:15-1:45 pm local, Pairs SP draw is Tuesday from 2:15-2:45pm. Men's SP draw is Wednesday from 2:30-3pm; and the RD draw is Thursday from 12:30-1pm.

That was the official hotel in 2016. All the officials, skaters and All-Event ticket holders staying at the hotel have access to a shuttle bus.
The shuttle from the Marriott is just for those with credentials, not spectators. The Sheraton and Colonnade are providing spectator shuttles, but I think you have to be a hotel guest there to use it.

RE practice groups...yay, I get to see the USA dance teams on Tuesday at TD! Unless my flight is delayed, which would be a very SW thing to do. Hoping that since it's at 6:30, the plane will be there the night before and had its maintenance checks.

The flip side is i might not be awake for USA men's practice Tuesday night. TBH, I'm not sure they'll show up....it's the only practice in the main arena, but skaters like to stick to a predictable sleep schedule, which means getting to bed early when they are not competing.

Thanks for the correction. Yes, I meant the hotel guests of the official/spectator hotels. They're all within a few blocks of each other anyway.

In the Back Bay area, we had several delicious things from Flour Bakery & Cafe. I noticed there is also a Levain Bakery in that area now too; I'd like to see if the hype is real for those cookies.

Feeling grumpy. If any of those wonderful places have gluten free delicacies, please post for the unfortunate.

I have their chocolate chip recipe. I'll message it to you. You could bake your own full batch for what one cookie costs at that bakery. :shuffle:

Not to toot my own horn, but I think my own recipe, which you've sampled, are better. The Levain recipe is almost a cross between cookies and cake in texture.

Jennifer Lee’s at Boston Public Market is gluten, vegan and nut free. It’s near Haymarket station. Very walkable from the Garden. Mother Juice is also listed as gluten free.

Thanks. The funny thing is I want my eggs and dairy, GF does not mean vegan! When daughter tries to make pastries both egg free and GF, the results please neither eggless grandkid or me!

Ladies, don’t forget to put TP or extra tissues on your packing lists. With an expected attendance 85% female, the restrooms may run out of essentials fairly often. And if you hate waiting for one of those wall mounted air dryers as much as I do, bring hand sanitizer.
