2025 ISU World Figure Skating Championships in Boston

Well there better be some VIP seats saved somewhere since I still haven’t heard back from SCOB about my seats that were sold. Otherwise I would like a seat on the ice! 😁

I see plenty of availability for gala, including lower bowl, on Ticketmaster?
In any case, I hope your situation will be resolved soon.

For Men FS and especially Women FS, lower bowl looks close to being sold out.

I was at the garden last night for the Celtics game. My friend had a small purse and could not get in with it. She had to go back to her car to hide it. Not sure if they have stricter guidelines these days. The giant screen and the black not so comfortable seats are the major changes since the last worlds at the garden. Is it March yet? ;)

The LOC is working with the arena to hopefully have a different bag requirement for Worlds. They are aware how big this issue is for skating fans.

I was also at the garden for the C's game yesterday! I saw two people in front of my group get turned away and get told to go to the bag check around the corner. I sat back row balcony (row 15) and had a great view although closer balcony and not being blocked by the net would be better

The Royal Sonesta, where I stayed in 2016, is sold out. The only rooms available at the Courtyard by Marriott are about $1500+ a night for a penthouse suite. I'm feeling ripped off at the moment but at least the single session tickets weren't too horribly overpriced.

Holy sh!t @livetoskate that is insane

I booked 2 hotels in advance - Westin Copley Place and Doubletree, both about $1900 for March 25-31st.

When I decided to go for 2016 last minute I got a package deal and stayed at what was the Taj, and it wasn't terribly pricey but I know a lot of people don't like doing last minute like I sometimes do

Btw, there's a hotel near Royal Sonesta that has rooms available for over $500/night, but there's still at least 15-20 minutes of walking to the arena. CitizenM costs about the same or slightly more, but it's across the street from the arena.

I just looked on the Marriott website for 3/25-3/31 and see several hotels downtown with rates under $400/night.

I'm also seeing some options in Brookline and Cleveland Circle. Not ideal but as long as you are on the green or orange T lines, you'll be able to travel to TD Garden easily.

I'm guessing plenty of other events/conventions are happening the same week, as Boston has many fold the hotel rooms than would just be needed for Worlds attendees to drive up prices. Plus I know some who booked Airbnb instead of going the hotel route.

I have a reservation for M-Sat night, but I'm still planning on flying in the Sunday before (as flights look cheaper for me), but thinking I'll use hotel points I've saved up for that night. A PITA to switch hotels, but the hotel I'm staying at didn't have rooms for that date. :drama:

ETA: also check in two weeks. Some of these same hotels may be offering the previous lower rate as a "Black Friday" deal. 💩

Hmm debating doing a last minute trip Thurs to Sunday.. I see a few hotels around using the train/metro. Will wait and see what Black Friday deals as will always be single tickets around. Was just doing Grand Prix final but considering it’s only 10 hour drive or two hour flight I should consider it.

Another option is to stay in Providence, RI near the Amtrak train station. There are several hotels there within reasonable walking distance.

During the week, the last Providence line commuter train leaves Back Bay station at 12 midnight. Gets into Providence for 1:11am. Take the Green Line from TD Garden to Copley and walk 2 blocks to Back Bay. You can also take the Orange Line directly into Back Bay.

Yes, you do have to allow for enough of time to get to Back Bay from TD Garden but the savings could be worth it. 🤷‍♀️. Worked for me during past US Nationals and Worlds held in Boston.

I now work IT Support at a financial services firm in Boston and have taken plenty of late night trains home. There’s more people on the train at that hour than you might think.

Also, north of Boston isn't there a commuter train that stops at the TD Garden north station?

Fitchburg, Haverhill, Lowell, Newburyport/Rockport, Orange Line, Green Line D and E all stop at north station, as well as the 4 bus. I've taken haverhill line at 11pm and never had an issue, as well as taken the green and orange line past midnight after being in the city. Commuter rail I'd be a little nervous since some trains get canceled. But orange/green line come all the time.

Still undecided on going on friday and saturday but given the expensive hotel and never been around Boston I find difficult to chose where to stay in a more affordable $$$ zone that is not that hard to get from/to TD Garden

There are two subway lines that go north plus a couple of commuter rail lines. The caveat is that the last trains are before midnight for most.

@alizadavida has the best answer.
There is a chance they will hold the commuter rails to be 30 min after the end of the event. They do it for major concerts/bruins/celtics games. But not a definate so wouldn't plan on it. Orange/Green line run til 1am.

On the Marriott app today they are offering 25% discount on hotel rooms for "Black Friday." [Offer good November 29-December 3, and you pay up front]. On the computer website it's just 20%. So if someone is looking for Worlds or Nationals you may want to take a look.

Unfortunately, you have to complete your stay by January 20

My current reservation is $249/night, but with the taxes and fees it’s like $280 :)

I’d like to do better, so that I could possibly stay for more of the event!
$249/$280 in Downtown Boston IS a good deal. That being said, there are some possibilities.

If yourself or someone you know is a member of Perks At Work (www.perksatwork.com), then check for discounts there. The Hotel Tonight app (available for the iPhone at least) is my family’s favorite place to check. If you know someone with Status with one of the major hotel chains, see if they can gift you some points.

If you work for a company that has an office in/near Boston, time to talk to your Boston-based colleagues to see if anyone has extra space and is willing to help. If you graduated from any of the Boston-area schools, time for some alumni networking 🙂.

Baring any of the above working out, either move a bit further away (near a T or Commuter Rail stop) or spend some extra $$$.

Citizen M has one through December 5, good for reservations through March 30.

But discount is surely a relative term.
