2025 Cranberry Cup International (August 7-10, 2025), Norwood, MA, USA

my internet is acting a fool so i missed the beginning but I expected a little more elvis from donovan??? like if anyone can handle some pelvic gyrations, it's him
The program is definitely light on the audience hamming that we usually get from him.

Carrillo

2s-1t, 3s-3t (ETA: I think this was the 4t mentioned in other people's summaries--but very toe axeled so it looked like a sal to me), 3a, 3z, basic stroking a bit choppy, had one of those 3-2a-2a sequences, spins slowing down as they go, some fun hammy choreography to Elvis

Oh Donovan, not Elvis. Blech. A mixed bag of a program, jumps a bit all over the place, but the 4s looked pretty good and his 3a has improved so much in the last several years. But add in a lot of popped jumps and not so deep edges on the steps and I don't think his levels will be amazing, no matter how much he sells it.

Hoping this choreo is still new & that’s why the performance was lacking. The music cut is also screaming to end on footwork or choreo seq, not a butt spin.

Why this music change? :wall:

I loved both of Roman's programs last season and I felt like him being stuck at the high 7's in PCS is ridiculous seeing how Egadze and Grassl always score around that. Not so sure about this yet. Looks pretty empty and today looked like he was especially pacing and taking his time into each jump, which worked but made it all look slow with just about zero ice coverage.

did someone bring the canadian boys the good maple syrup this morning or something
Teknik or no teknik, it was kind of refreshing to see Roman not wipe the ice with every jump

Both Canadians skated well? When’s the last time that happened?

Hoping to see more choreo added thru the season, I know Roman is capable of it.

I've liked every single White Crow program thus forth (yes, including Grassl's). Even Alexander Zlatkov who was nowhere near qualifying to the LP at Worlds had a beauty of a program.

This just does not match the chop chop quick turn frantic style of Tamir's skating. At all. The music begs for lines to be held and he's just powering down the rink not listening to anything. Sigh. Even his jumps are landed so harshly today.

Kuperman

2z, 4s hand down, 4t-3t stepping up to seniors with quads, 2t, 3a, 3r-3t, trouble centering his camel, subdued in expression, but there's an underlying excitement to his skating, and based on last season, he'll perform more later in the season

I feel like both of Tamir's programs this year are trying to push him into a style he's not. There were some good moments in that program, though, but he needs to work on his posture and not give away points on spins.

Regardless, he is the skater Israel should send to the OQE. He probably doesn't need quads to qualify, maybe just do the 4T and concentrate on clean triples and better spins.

Choreographed by Sandra Bezic, so I'm going to love it. I just know it.

Although I see some movements lifted from Jeff Buttle's Samson and Delilah. Of course David Wilson had to be involved, too.
