2025 (78th Annual) Tony Awards

@peibeck Jasmine was one of the winners of the Drama Desk Award. We shall see.

I saw all of them and I would rank them:
1. Jennifer
2. Megan
3. Jasmine
4. Audra
5. Nicole

A special Tony Awards tribute from Green/Parsons. :) That gala number must be really something!

I envy all of you who have the opportunity to see Broadway on Broadway with the current awards season.

I get to experience it through Broadway on Tour, not the newest but still it's great.

We talk about doing a NY week trip and go to several plays. But it's not a reality yet.

Oh dear... Michael's lip synch. Well the Ina Bauer was fantastic though.

Thanks to CNN I actually got to see one of the nominated plays this year! Although I wish there had been more shots of the whole stage of Good Night And Good Luck because it looked like the set design was spectacular.

Thoughts on the broadcast:
  • I'm over Cynthia Erivo. Yes, she has a lovely voice, but her outfits are ridiculous and I'm so tired of her ego. And of course the first ad for Wicked Pt II was during the broadcast nooooooo
  • I'm going to trust @my little pony that Maybe Happy Ending is good, because I wasn't impressed by the crap robot impersonations in the performance. Dead Outlaw and Operation Mincemeat were the only two musicals that looked interesting. Dude from the Bobby Darin musical was awful.
  • I was mad that Gracie Lawrence didn't win, but then I discovered that I had actually seen Natalie Venetia Belcon perform on Broadway (Avenue Q) so I felt a little better after that.
