2025-26 USFS International Assignments

Mezzaluna Cup entries are up!

US teams include:

Sr - Cui/Rogers, Koncius/Shchepetov, Pham/Spiridonov
Jr - Aboian/Veselukhin, Robertson/Rohner

I noticed that Nicholas Brooks is no longer listed for Tayside. His name wasn’t added to the USFS page with the others, and now he’s gone from the ISU entries list. Any news out there as to why? I hope he’s not injured with only a month to go until Sectionals.

IceChallenge Graz entries are available on their Sportity channel.

Sr Men - Kapeikis & Naumov
Sr Pairs - Liu/Bedard and Moss/Galbavy
Sr Ice Dance - Pate/Bye
Jr Women - Logan Higase-Chen and Sherry Zhang

This will give Kapeikis and Pate/Bye byes to Nationals as the it's the same week as Pac Coast Sectionals & the Ice Dance Final.

Looking for the complete roster. is not available yet?

And will this be a challenger?

Curious timing to send Liam to Austria Nov 5 to 9 when Skam starts Nov 14...not impossible to do both but makes me wonder when they are being so cagey about confirming the SA spots on their site...

I'm convinced the USFS is giving certain skaters every last possible chance to "earn" the SkAm TBD spots in pairs and men's.

Now that Tomoki and McBark both have two spots, that's at least one less skater/team they have to contend with taking the spot away from whomever they really favor. We won't see a final decision made until after CoC - gives both Naumov & Sanchez one last chance to best Liam's Challenger score. Same with pairs - ShiNagy get this week at GPdF to do much better than they have so far this fall, plus I'm sure the USFS is hoping ChanHowe can pick up a 2nd GP somewhere else.

It's interesting they're also sending LiuBed to this competition - I think they deserve the SkAm TBD spot more than their current pets of ShiNagy, should ChanHowe get a 2nd GP in the next week or so.

I wonder if they are assigning Liam and Max to hedge their bets. The same way they do where they assign some skaters to an event the week of the GPF in case they don't qualify. My bet is they don't actually plan on whoever gets SA going to this event, but they want to have them in there in case they don't get it.

Could be. The senior men are the only discipline with a substitute listed for the USA - Jacob Sanchez (which makes even less sense since he's competing at CoC the week before).

Liam being assigned to this makes sense in the sense that it gets him a bye to Nats because it's the same week as Pac Coasts, so even if he doesn't wind up with SkAm, he still has a bye - but that could have also been accomplished by assigning him to Warsaw Cup, Tallinn Trophy or Golden Spin, so who knows what the thought process is here.

Well, now... this is interesting...

ShiNagy have been added to IceChallenge Graz per the USFS international assignments page as of yesterday.

SkAm Men's & Pairs spots still listed as TBD.
Well, that seals it for me. ShiNag are being given every opportunity to get their scores up as Efimova won’t get citizenship and they are not sure where ChanHowe might be.

They can try, but the thing is, IceChallenge isn't a Challenger, so it won't improve their SB. And it may very well damage them further because...
And they’re sending Chelsea and Ryan to senior C’s and D’s
Lmao - nah, this is a standard Sr B comp - which LiuBed are also assigned to. Wouldn't it be amusing if they beat ShiNagy again?

USFS has updated their Int'l Assignments page -

Bolero Cup - Senior - Cui/Rogers, Pham/Spiridonov; Adv Novice - Li/Zhu and Lukanin/O'Brien

Late to the party. Is Lukanin (Bolero Cup) related to the voidy Fraser/Lukanin of ice dance lore?

USOPC Team USA media summit ahead of 2026 Games will be held on Oct 28-29 in NYC.

FWIW: Glenn, Liu, Jason Brown, Chock, and Bates are on the athlete list (subject to change; last updated Sep 25).
The figure skaters are scheduled together for a group press conference and a group roundtable.
Plus one-on-one interviews with individual media outlets usually are held, IIRC.

"The event is strategically timed to mark the 100-days-out milestone to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 on Oct. 29."

I think Grand Prix assignments could be having some effect on which figure skaters are or are not listed for the media summit?
(France, Oct 17-19; China, Oct 24-26; Canada, Oct 31-Nov 2; Japan, Nov 7-9; USA, Nov 14-16; Finlandia, Nov 21-23.) ...

Live streaming of today's 2 pm ET presser at USOPC media summit is happeninged here:
ETA: But see below for link to archived video.

With Glenn (on her birthday!), Jason Brown, Liu, Chock/Bates.
Moderator: Isabelle McLemore, USFS VP of Communications.

ETA:
Video is archived at link below.
Presser with figure skaters starts at approx. 14:00, and lasts for approx. 23 minutes.

It hasn't been updated on the USFS page, but the IceChallenge entries were updated on their Sportity app earlier today.

Jacob Sanchez has been swapped in for Liam Kapeikis. And ShiNagy are officially added to the roster.

Meghan Duhamel mentioned in the Anything GOEs recap that Shin/Nagy missed the Worlds minimum by 0.19 at Grand Prix de France.

Tallinn Trophy entries are up!

Men - Kapeikis, Naumov
Women - Andrews, Bonillo, Everhardt
Dance - Cui/Rogers, Pate/Bye, Zingas/Kolesnik
Jr Men - Blackwell, Elano, Lopinto
Jr Women - Bezkorovainaya, Nemirovsky, von Felten
Jr Dance - Fischer/Fischer

I'm not sure if competing at Tallinn Trophy will be close enough to Midwestern Sectionals (the weekend before this competition) to secure a travel bye for any of these skaters. ETA - if there is a travel bye it would apply to Bonillo, Nemirovsky and Elano. Dancers compete in the Dance Final next week in conjunction with Pac Coasts, Easterns is the same weekend as SkAm which is two weeks before Tallinn Trophy.

Still waiting on the Warsaw Cup entries to be published.
