2025-26 Program Music and Choreographers

Fournier Beaudry & Cizeron RD will be a to Voguing  on Depeche Mode music https://www.instagram.com/reel/DN3dTGRUNdR/?igsh=dncyaWRlNmdsN3E3
Don't understand the "". Cizeron did waacking with Papadakis, not voguing. Those are two different styles of dance. And I am sure that this RD will be different - both in terms of vibe and choreo.

RD: Enjoy the Silence, Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode*

*They will be "Voguing" to Depeche Mode, though

What is pretentious again? The music or voguing? Or the introduction (in which case I surmise that you don't like it when skaters put some meaning into their programs)? Did you also call P/C's waacking RD pretentious? Or, if it's the music, would you call this choice pretentious if it was another team skating to it?

I think it became popular when Benny &. Joon was released, which is why people think of it as a 90s song. That’s when I first heard it. Someone should have done it for the 80s RD. Anyway, I’m excited.

I'm guessing Lilah will play the part of Johnny Depp's hat in that movie and be tossed around and slid along the ice a lot. :P

I'm intrigued they are going out of the pop disco box for the FD, but the last time they did that was their "Lion King" free, which probably was their least interesting senior program. But kudos for taking risks.

Diva Deanna doing "Carmina Burana?" Yes, please!!! Give me ALL. THE. DRAMA!!!

M/K repeating their brilliant "Paint it Black" SP makes sense. Literally it helped them win Worlds last season. The "Gladiator" free sounds like it could fit into their wheelhouse, but it's not really the most exciting choice.

Chiba doing "Last Dance" again??? Meh. I thought Cizeron choreographed a new SP for her to "Sakura?"

And speaking of which, "Personal Jesus" doesn't scream a vogueing/waacking type number to me, but we'll see. It's definitely not the choice I was expecting given this new pairing have separately displayed more beautiful classic technique.

This is the remix of Personal Jesus they’re using which sounds like it fits more. Of course we wouldn’t get the awesome original song.

And I think this might be the remix of Enjoy the Silence.

Saw them practice it as they were making the choreo, and being a huge DM fan who watches the band when they go on tour (even if I have to travel abroad), I was blown away that a top team is actually using their music.

I was not expecting that the twizzles sequence would work so well in the slower section of the song.

All I ever wanted - twizzles
All I ever needed
Is here in my arms
Words are very unnecessary
They can only do harm - voguing as the music picks up

From what I have seen, F-B/C look really good skating together. I am looking forward to watching them when they make their debut.

I know the hate is strong for a team that no one has seen yet, but how often does skating produce literal choreography for programs? How often do programs even have choreography these days?

In any event, I’d be willing to wager quite a bit that Depeche Mode did in fact find their way into the vogue queer spaces seeing how popular the band was in those circles.

FB/S tagged the choreographer they worked with for this RD:

Who shared work he did with Guillaume over a year ago:

I don't think voguing to DM is so out there.

I am more intrigued that Guillaume and his team decided to vogue this year after waacking with Gabby as I suspect the majority of fans who dislike the existence of this pair are already going to slam it for being a copy and not as good. They certainly set themselves a challenge to overcome.
:watch:

Well, I need much more coffee for full-on snark ;) but voguing to Enjoy the Silence would like doing to the Cha Cha Slide to Chopin's Cello Sonata or doing the Hustle to Handel's Hallelujah.

There is a mashup of Madonna's Vogue to Depeche Mode's Can't Get Enough which could have worked but FBS/Ciz's RD choice is causing death in my GenX soul.:drama:

Please do

As someone OLD who actually lived in NYC in the 80s and early 90s and went to the Elks Lodge and Webster Hall to watch balls, I can honestly say I never heard Depeche Mode. Pretty sure I heard their music on occasion at Limelight, but that was a very different animal. 🤷‍♂️ Ah the days when I could party til 5 a.m. and still make it to work at 9 a.m. the next morning.
