2025-26 Program Music and Choreographers

Riverdance has gone from a somewhat uncommon choice to a warhorse in two seasons flat.
Riverdance is 30 this year. If the skater’s teams are using the unwritten rule of finding music that hit when the judges were tweens through mid 20s, it’s top of list. Frankly, I expected a lot more Golden Eye, Braveheart, and Apollo 13 from the movie genre. And I’m shocked that there aren’t any Foo Fighters or No Doubt programs.

Yes! Such a sweeping score! In the 90s,
I was kind of tired of the inspirational movie soundtrack program but I do miss it now.
I feel like soundtrack music went from being too utilized in the '90s to basically never utilized since lyrics - which is a shame in an era when we have a lot of variety in soundtrack music. The soundtrack music that is used is warhorse like Schindler's List and The Mission.

Inception is different from Star Wars is different from Lord of the Rings is different from Princess Mononoke is different from Killers of the Flower Moon (though that would be a controversial choice) is different from Avatar and so on and so forth... There's a lot of great stuff out there right now.

Don't forget the nine thousand Dune programs. :D

My cheeks are actually hurting from the smile. I have to smile. I don't want to think about why this choice is so perfect.

But god, if this is the last one, what a special last one. That step sequence is the perfect blend of nostalgia for that kid with a ponytail while showing off the magnificent, mature skater he's become. I can't wait to see it in full.

Great choice for Jason. A nice full circle moment in what I assume is his competitive swan song.

I generally don't like programs to Irish dance music, but I do understand why this makes some sense as a full circle swan song. I tend to prefer his short program music choices to his long program music, but it might be the opposite this season.
