2025-26 Program Music and Choreographers

As far as I can tell, @Winnipeg started the topic. Unless there are some deleted posts or something that I'm not seeing. That's why I asked Winnipeg.

I don't think I have anyone in this thread blocked. It doesn't have that "Show Ignored" link on the bottom that threads have when people you've blocked have posted.

ETA: Okay, I see it now (with some assistance)! But it's probably not a rabbit hole we need to go down in a thread where people are looking for something specific like program music.

Kaori Sakamoto (JPN)
SP: Time To Say Goodbye performed by Sarah Brightman, Andrea Bocelli

FS:
La vie en rose by Patricia Kaas, Édith Piaf
Hymne à l'amour by Patricia Kaas, Édith Piaf

ETA: edited the country (though it was fun while it lasted) :D

I might get behind these programs, throwback to the late 90s/early 2000s with the short, and the DUN DUN of Patricia Kass’ La vie en rose 👌🏼

Piaf can be pretty powerful. I’d swap La Vie en Rose for Milord to keep the intensity up, but this can be quite the thematic and moving farewell from Kaori nonetheless.

I’m less convinced by Time to Say Goodbye.

Well, I’m not the biggest fan of either of these songs, especially since I played out the Brightman Bocelli song to the max 20 years ago I think Time to say goodbye is very powerful, especially the way that it ends. I could see that ending with a spin. That’s not a lame or weak piece of music at all, don’t get me wrong it’s not my favorite, but it is powerful.

:wall:

Ugh, skaters it's "Time to Say Goodbye" to Sarah Brightman's strained soprano vocals. From this piece to POTO mixes and everything in between.

And perhaps it's a slightly personal bias as my former roommate in NYC was her manager briefly, and Brightman's batsh*t crazy behavior didn't endear me more to her high pitched turkey warbling. :P

I feel like you have to be on a lot of cocaine to enjoy listening to Sarah Brightman. Which explains her on and off stage work with Andrew Lloyd Webber. :shuffle:
