I have a vintage '50s dress with the same blue black pattern as Frangipani's shirt

That's not fair either.

But if PCS are scored a certain way, skaters can count on that and make it part of their strategy. If there are different standards for different skaters, then they can't.
Jason Brown has mastery over his skates, intricate choreography, and you continue to argue about this and how his PCS, 10 points or so less than his norm, is overscored by the judges. I really don't get what people want. You watch every competition. He's not getting a 70 PCS because his triple Axel has gone missing. The end.

He shouldn't have beaten Tomoki in the FS.

ETA you decided I was arguing that his PCS should be 10 points lower. I don't know where you go that from as I never said that.

Unfortunately, there have always been different standards for different skaters. Even during 6.0.

You literally began this exchange by saying he was held up, I asked where, you said the PCS and then proceeded to say that the judges wouldn't give that PCS if it weren't him, even if it's supposed to be that way on paper.

So again, you're here arguing that the judges maybe did the right thing but you don't like it because they apparently only do it for him (noting here you said "if it wasn't Jason Brown" -- meaning him), but you know damn well all the quadsters including Malinin constantly, and I mean constantly are way overscored in PCS for not doing much of anything. Jason at least has the quantitative analysis to say hmm, he deserves this.

We are just going to go in circles, but I never thought I'd be arguing with someone who doesn't want the rules applied logically because it isn't at other times.

Did Matteo have this fist pumping/finger pointing in his program last year?

I feel like he's had the same variation of the short program forever, and I feel like I'm always watching the same free skate from him, too. I don't know why I just don't connect all that much with Matteo's skating. He's pleasant, has decent technique but there's something show-y about the programs.

We are but part of that is that you decided I meant something I didn't and have been arguing it over and over. I never said his PCS should be 10 points lower. Just lower than they were.

Here's the thing, Tomoki was on fire, his program was interesting and suits him. Brown's program is fine and he has great skating skills but SS is only one mark in the PCS. As for performance, he's been much better. The mistakes on the axels take me out of the program and every time he jumps, I hold my breath so that takes me out too. And the choreography is fine but, again, he's had much better. This program is certainly not as interesting as Tomoki's IMO.

So I'd lower his PCS and I'd question some of the GOEs on those jumps too.

ETA and I'd give Tomoki more for Performance too. 7.9? Too low. CO is way too low at 6.79.

I don't think I can hang in there any longer. I've been up for nearly 20 hours.

My only question is why is Daniel Grassl wearing the Official Canadian Men's costume of black pants and a white shirt?

Good luck to all the skaters in the last group.

And I'm asking why you think that, to which you said other skaters not named Jason Brown would have seen a drop. Not that he actually deserved it-- you've never once argued that in your replies. Quite the opposite in fact.

I still ask how he can go from mid-90's PCS constantly to mid-80's and it's still too high, if we are going by actual criteria for each component.

You don't know what the GOE ended up being for the jumps, but this is a new addition to your complaints. We do know thanks to Chris that Jason got at least one (probably two) < calls. That changes the GOE. Tomoki crawls into his jumps, the quad toe wasn't rotated, the Axels go up and down with zero flow out and are tight as it is, and he's in and out of the program, too. There was not intricacy in the skating and there was nowhere near the mastery of the blade as compared to what Jason showed.

But all that aside, you keep arguing (you, not me) that the judges are unfairly giving Jason PCS he may actually deserve because they don't do that for other skaters. But they do. Time and time again. For skaters that don't have anywhere near the skill that he has.

And I promise this is it about this. Carrying on.
