I attended a social ice dance season where this dance was played 2x every Sunday for 10 years. I'm very familiar both with it and with how it looks done both wrong and correctly.

Okay, but no one is saying that. We are explaining that they are key points within the entire pattern that are literally the only thing that matter when assigning the level. One technical panelist is zoned in on the woman and one is zoned in on the man, as it's quite difficult to follow both throughout. The dance itself may look smooth as hell but it might not have an exactly precise shift from LBO to LFI edge, or so-on. Maybe there's a flat. Maybe there's a split-second wavering of the edge.

Unless you have the literal exact steps of the dance memorized, then everything can look like L4 where they didn't hit a single thing correctly. Same with the one-foot sequence.

Pattern dance step level 2 but GOE over 3 points so it shows while you execute the element clear and clean it wont matter (that much) if you don't get all the Y for the Keypoints as required

I never claimed to. I try to help people learn, so they don't ask questions like what the YNYY stuff meant, as you did not that many seasons ago- and that literally is the basis of what we are talking about right now. I don't know why I bother when I get pushback from people that say they are experts anyways.

Like, in what world would these songs be played back-to-back and in these cuts with the dead air? Dead air on cuts should be a deduction, IMO. The music has the feeling of “the baby got ahold of the remote”.

I try to help people learn, so they don't ask questions like what the YNYY stuff meant, as you did not that many seasons ago- and that literally is the basis of what we are talking about right now. I don't know why I bother when I get pushback from people that say they are experts anyways.

All I was trying to say is I don't know why teams at this level can't do the steps cleaner given that this isn't the hardest pattern and in turn got a bunch of lectures about how the scoring works.
