Does anyone else see 4CCs and the Youth Olympics from last year still on Peacock? Do we know why those are still there but everything else from the 23-2024 is gone?

I have a guess, but if someone knows, that would be great.
What's your guess? :sekret: But I have no idea why either.

My guess was that it has to do with the difference in copyright (and related) laws. China is notorious for all the copying that goes on there.

However, a little research shows that both countries have similar copyright laws to ours, so on paper there shouldn't be much of a difference.

Twitter/X Peacock rep is most likely a bot. Men's Free Skate (World/ISU Feed) is the livestream for the full event. "Men's FS" scheduled for noon is the NBC TV (taped) recap for SCI.

ETA - from NBC Sports (Oct. 21):

According to the SCI24 colored time schedule, the FD is scheduled to end at 15:41 Atlantic/2:41 pm Eastern time on Sunday so NBC's recap will not include the ice dance final results.

Have we seen anything on who the commentators will be for Peacock? I'm assuming it may not be Tara and Johnny, since the NBC broadcast is only highlights.

Ted Barton said at the end of the Skate America gala livestream that Chris Howarth will handle the ISU world feed/Peacock commentary for Skate Canada Int'l.

ETA:

IIRC, when they're not on site, Gannon, Lipinski & Weir usually tape their commentary at NBC Sports' studio in Stamford, CT. NBC Sports' press release with this info hasn't been published online yet.

NBC is showing Alysa's SP right now (50 mins. into their recap) in my Eastern time zone.

ETA: For Peacock subscribers, it's labeled "Men's Free Skate."

And now I can enjoy Rino Matsuike's FS again! :)

I recently came across this Oct. 13 reply by Mark Hanretty on X re. his Grand Prix scheduled commentary for the ISU/world feed (that Peacock uses): https://x.com/Mark_Hanretty/status/1845398024744239589
"I’ll be covering Finland France and China plus the final!:)"

Chris Howarth did the Skate Canada Int'l commentary (remotely) for the world feed and said at the end of yesterday's livestream that he would also be back for NHK Trophy.

Oh, thank heavens. It really is one of the most beautiful skates I have seen. I was so scared I would lose it tonight when Peacock deleted that event. I'm still going to watch it several more times there as I don't trust the NBC commentary. I was happy to hear Chris Howarth. Mark Hanretty will be fine too.

Scroll down to post #743 in the Japanese news thread for a copy of Rino Matsuike's FS video that was posted on X: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...eason-news-updates.111942/page-3#post-6671898

NBC started their recap broadcast with Jason's FS :( (not unexpected, of course). ETA that the other men's free skates shown were the top 4 - Cha, Yamamoto, Sato, Malinin.

Don't know what thread to post this in so trying here. :D

When Johnny talks about the benchmark score in Mens is 100-200-300, what would that pattern look like for Womens, Pairs and Dance as the 'benchmark score'?

That's really just NBC's "formula" for being in contention for medals at Worlds and not realistic for most GP competitors. ;)

ETA: Men's free skates shown on NBC: Adam, Koshiro, Andrew :), Boyang :(. Mikhail Shaidorov's historic first 3A+4T was featured in a clip.

Yup, that's what you're looking for if you want to be in contention for the podium at Worlds.

Women & Pairs are pretty similar - benchmark 75-145-220 would be Ilia/Yuma level scores; a bit lower - 70-135-205 is really good and likely top 5 at Worlds in either discipline. Pairs may be a bit lower, if you look at the past couple seasons, but the quality has really been improving since 2023, so my guess is that's about where the scores will need to be this season.

Dance - 90-135-225 is tiny bit higher than what ChoBat managed at Worlds the past two years; a bit lower - 85-125-210 is usually good enough for top 5 at Worlds. There's a bit of variation and some teams may score a little lower in the RD but make up the difference in the FD and vice versa.

Now it says event had ended. When you click on the event, it says replay available soon. Someone is up in the night.

That, plus some of the tiles for NHK are up but not all and not in order.
All the NHK tiles except the Women's FS (last event of the comp) are up now.
Finally, shouldn't we be seeing tiles for sectionals sometime very soon?
Wednesday, Nov. 13 will be the first Senior or Junior event at Sectionals on Peacock - Junior Men at Pacific Coast.
This season the tiles seem to be appearing a week ahead of time, so I'd expect the Sectionals tiles to show up this Wed or Thursday at the earliest.

Here's hoping the replays from Grand Prix France are available again soon. I thought I had 72 hours from the conclusion of the event to catch the clips.

Free programs for Grand Prix France are back up. Says they are available for 10 hrs. Not long enough, but something.

Thanks Sylvia - and others.
Woo-hoo, I'll gladly take the credit. :D
@Allskate @Jonas @A.H.Black FWIW, I tweeted at PeacockTVCare/NBC Sports/USFS today to ask about the "Events can be accessed on Peacock for 72 hours following their conclusion." We'll see if I get a response...
ETA: BevPOregon tweeted (at Peacock) after I did - PeacockTVCare replied to her and I'm fine with that... just glad we get 10 more hours!

Tiles are up for Finlandia. Nothing yet for sectionals. Is there an official list of competitors for sectionals yet? The results sites don't have them.

No, we have to wait for the 3 Sectional starting orders to be published online. The skaters/teams with byes to Nationals in Senior and Junior are posted in each of the 4 U.S. news threads by discipline in GSD. ETA: I’ve also shared a list of the top Senior men projected to be in each Sectional.
