2024-25 Program Music and Choreographers

An Annie Lennox cover of Whiter Shade of Pale? In the words of Annie herself, “Whyyyyyyy?????”

Annie Lennox's version came out back in 1995 and was a top-40 hit. There are a lot of bad covers in figure skating these days but this is absolutely not one of them. Saw Piper and Paul do the exhibition live in Stars on Ice this year & it was fabulous. I think this was a really smart choice for them.

I haven’t seen their exhibition but I listened to the cover online and I still think the original was way better. ?‍♀️ It was just such a good original with much more soul IMO.

True. The original has more soul/gravitas.

But I like that Annie changed it into a more ethereal vibe.

What’s the point of a cover if you don’t change it up.

They’re both amazing versions to me.

Celina Fradji/Jean-Hans Fourneaux (FRA)
FD: "Exogenesis: Symphony" Parts 1 and 3 by Muse
Choreographers: Karrine Albert and Mahil Chantelauze
So they are going
cosmic
.
I'm predicting the costumes :
simple, white and black, probably no sequins
I'm leaving that here to measure what percentage of wrong I am next week. :biggrinbo

Lou KOCH / Lucas CHATAIGNOUX (FRA)
FD :
Infidèle by Claire Diterzi
Tristesse by Zaho de Sagazan

:wuzrobbed
Why ?
Why keep the biggest voids for a team who may not reach the JGP ?
I know why and I hate the ISU for this.
I know there are no big stakes this season about Koch / Chataignoux.
And that Lou Koch will have a blast with this one.
From any location where this will be performed, even if they are not ready and if they fall 3 times, I want a video.
Jalousy and Madness. Diterzi + Sagazan
This is sooo Arribert's alley, at the opposite of Fradji/Fourneaux's FD which will be interesting and an excellent vehicle/exercise for them and will help them grow further but ...
There is already something in Bordet/Gipoulou's Toxic that is gutsy but this is the program I need.
Gimme ...:wuzrobbed

Ok that's a bit much but it's the spirit.

I think they‘ve already worn the new costumes at test skate?(or maybe I'm wrong these are old ones?)

Just caught up with their Ostrava performance of this on YouTube. Whatever battiness we've all been imagining ... it's even battier. No transitions between the songs at all -- one song just SLAMS into the next.

I think I have to check this one out. It sounds like fun for all the wrong reasons.

It would be more fun if they were good. They're not terrible, they're just not on the same level as the Taschlers or Mrazeks were while they were in juniors.

Short:
Music Nocturne n.20 Chopin.
I elaborated a program with a great step sequence that was made for me by Benoit Richaud that also has chosen this music.
With my coach Edoardo De Bernardis we decided to add to the concept of this program a tribute to a Surrealism artist that I admire a lot: René Magritte. “The Mistery, the unknown, the questions, the doubts, the curiosity, the nostalgy, the man that wants to dream, the man that is observed”.

Notturno n.20 Chopin .
