2024-25 ISU Grand Prix Assignments & projected alternates

Too late for Skate Canada to reclaim their host spot and give it to Fiona Bombardier/Benjamin Mimar?

Kao Miura is really struggling with his leg injury during practices at SkAm - would not be surprised if he winds up being our first man out of the GP this season. Unfortunately for Lucas Broussard, Kao's 2nd event is NHK, so I'd expect he'll be replaced by a Japanese skater - but I'm not 100% positive since he's an "invited skater" rather than a host pick.

I know that the GP Announcement puts host picks at the bottom, historically, in practice, hosts have been able to, if rarely, bypass the selection groups and get more than one from the set round, with another Fed getting an extra pick in the opposite round. The Japanese Fed has done this at least once, and maybe the French Fed.

I could be very wrong, but I'd interpret that to mean the host picks are first, and then the other hosts divvy up whichever seeded and other grouped skaters are left in their designated rounds. Because the Feds used to pick whomever they wanted (given the 3/member limits) from the Alternate List, it's impossible to say for sure whether they were throwing the pick back into the general pool and then picking their own skater/team from the list, but this year may prove the rule out by watching the behavior.

Very sad for Miura that he's struggling this way. He does not look okay.

you can't say things like that....you're getting my hopes up 😂
you have no idea the national holiday I'm gonna throw for myself when GamKor gets a GP spot.
I don't expect people to always write "serious stuff" in here but, tbh, I find your post, quoting mine which is about a skater who's facing back to back injuries and is still unsure about the outcome, a bit "over the top" to say the least...

Ehhhhh... I'd cut @farahfan some slack. Goodness knows, I totally rained on her "Olympic hopes" parade a few weeks ago in the Pairs general discussion thread in the Trash Can. Plus, no one took exception when I told ANL earlier this week that we were only 5 more Pairs withdrawals away from his MarBed team getting a GP. It would be pretty monumental for GamKor to get a GP - I'm pretty sure they'd be on the second Filipino skater/team to get a GP ever (Michael Christian Martinez having had 1 in 2014 and 1 in 2015).

Pairs grid officially updated!

Updated GP Alternates List too -

They FINALLY removed all the skaters/teams who had competed on the JGP except Dovhal/Kulesza who are the very last team on the Dance list, lol.

They updated Simova/Aksenov's score & moved them up; but they did not update Larson/Kapron's with their current season Challenger score. Again, not sure it matters since they're so far down the list, but still. Also, they didn't update Naumov's current season SkAm score which is 1.38 pts higher than his 23-24 SB and wouldn't move him up the list, but still...

Also - Flores/Desyatov are removed from the Dance alternates list.
