I'm not really worried. 5 quads and better choreo should prop him up very high next season, and there are many North American choreographers who'll want to help him and want to work with him after this season. 6 quads unneeded, but some of the special elements like the 3Lz+3A+3T (IIRC) should make a comeback, I'm sure the judges will like seeing it internationally.Yeah, I really hope they don't go back to Razgulajevs for the FS choreo next season. There are better options, as we see with the SP from Shae-Lynn.
No kidding. And what an international debut for Cho/Adcock - that's some nice prize money they'll get to help them next season if they don't get any Korean National Team assistance.Amazing season for Korea

Surprise fall on the quad axel for Malinin, but straight back with 2 more quads.
During the warm-up, when they showed Ilia's list of planned elements, they showed fewer quads, with a triple axel not a quad axel. I wonder if he had planned to dial things back and changed his content at the last minute and decided to go for the quad axel? Ilia placing so low compared to expectations is going to make him rethink his approach again.Jeez, Ilia - we're tired too. Please dial back the crazy quad ambitions next season and give us more good footwork and spins like we know you're capable of.
I thought I'd seen him do it before. Maybe in his exhibition? Was the crazy twist-y leap he did in his choreo steps a new thing?
I don't see what was so great with Cha this season either, tbh. I like his 4S and he's a great spinner and that ina bauer is beautiful, but there are much better 4Ts out there (he really crawls into that and his 3A). I would have 100% placed him behind Rizzo, too, but it wouldn't really have mattered in the end if he was first or second.Personally, I preferred Rizzo to Cha. I love Cha's quads, especially his quad sal, but the rest of his skating doesn't do much for me. I wouldn't have given him that 4-point plus PCS lead.

The men/pairs mixed zone quotes for today are also on GS' Twitter: https://twitter.com/goldenskateTo answer one of my own questions from the Pairs FS - per Golden Skate, ConMac plan on keeping their FS for next season, but will be getting a new SP - https://www.instagram.com/p/CrDECOloN5r/.
$35,000 each for both Alexa and Brandon. Is anyone able to figure out what the paychecks are for this? Curious how much KnFr got for example.

Actually, it's $40k because they came in #1 in the WS, so they get $30k not $20k. The prize money is $30k for 1st in either the WS or at Worlds, so MiuKih will get $35k - $30k for WC1 that they split and then $20k each for coming in 3rd here.$35,000 each for both Alexa and Brandon.
$20,000 from being second at Worlds, $25,000 each for finishing on the winning team- each member of team USA receives $25,000 for the first-place $200,000 pot.

Ilia made the most - $45k due to his WS2 ($20k) and 1st place here ($25k).
The following skaters/teams get the WC/WS Top 3 bonus on top of the WTT team prize monies -
1st ($30k) - Sakamoto (1/1), KniFraz (2/1), MiuKih (1/2), GuiFab (2/1) and ChoBat (1/2)
2nd ($20k) - Cha (2/3), Malinin (3/2), H Lee (2/4)
3rd ($10k) - Mihara (5/3), ConMac (3/4), GilPoir (3/4)
Not a bad payday at all, lol.
