Well, yesterday, I thought we found Jimmy Ma's SP music for next season, and now I think we just found his FS music for next season thanks to Les Supremes. Not a fan of these music cuts at all. The program itself was really good, with some really interesting transitions and moves, but I'm left underwhelmed by it. Not as good as their Worlds-winning FS from last season.

Not even close to staying ahead of the Haydenettes. Yikes.
And this was the US #5 team. If Skyliners had gone, they certainly would've beat Hayden. Elite would've too if they went clean.

TBH Rockettes were the better skaters and with sharper and more creative elements, but they were shaky in their last comp and had a fall here. I think they still should've won, but I'm not mad with Les Supremes coming out on top given the fall and the slim margin of victory.

I am watching this and genuinely don't get synchro but yay skaters!
You have to watch it live Lanie it’s a lot more exciting, the crowds the speed! I had no idea till I watched it live.
I know absolutely nothing about synchro, but I enjoyed the Finnish team with the blue costumes the most.
I enjoyed that team too! Although I think Les Supreme deserved first the other Finish team Unique was also my favourite and I liked their package the music and the choreo and their costumes.

That was so fun! Thanks for the pbp and educating us all.

I am currently watching this on catch up. Wasn't able to watch live. Have seen all the SPs and the first three groups of the FS.

I am incredibly impressed where Synchro has come from when it used to be Precision Skating. The technical difficulty skaters perform as well as the interpretation is amazing. I haven't done Synchro but I do judge it from time to time and also provide judging feedback to a couple of local teams who I have known from where they started.

Anyway I really enjoyed all the SPs. I think the Japanese were my favourites. Those SP costumes were gorgeous. I am quite surprised that Japan is not more of a powerhouse in Synchro because they know how to teach basic skating skills which are the foundations of this discipline. Of course there are all the other elements. Still I wonder if Japan has the potential to be a top team in the future.

I will say the difference in skating skills between the top teams and lower down is obvious. The fluidity of the leg action and smoothness of flow stands out. So the SP results I felt were correct.

I am also felt our Australian team Team Unity did a great job. What impressed me the most was their speed. Not sure if anyone realises but last year their home rink closed down due to structural problems with the facility (it now has a grant to get fixed so they will be able to move back in when it is repaired). Considering the struggles they did very well.

The other positive is the ISU providing great coverage and commentary. The woman who was with Chris did an excellent job explaining the moves and pointing out the positives and errors.
