Kaiya medaled, 3rd! Okay. THRILLED for Lindsay willing!!!!!

We'll have to see... I do agree with @Frau Muller that she's put a firm stamp on that SkAm TBD spot. I can't see any good rationale for giving it to Gracie one last time, and neither Seo nor Hilmer proved they deserve it here.
@Karen-W I hope that you mean Lindsay T. Sorry but I’ve never cared for Ziegler…so I’m pretty happy now.

Well, Lindsay already has two GP assignments. I must have you confused with someone else in the US Women's thread, though I'd like to think you don't disagree that Ziegler has definitely set herself apart from the rest of the crowd for that SkAm TBD spot, lol.

Let's hope today is not a repeat of yesterday in that regard!
I am a huge Adam fan, but why is Broussard feeling like he has to use that variation? Even Adam realized at the end of his career that the risk associated with Rippon 3 Lutz, let alone a Rippon quad Lutz was simply not worth it. It took him a few shoulder dislocations not to use it anymore.

Broussard
4T hand on the ice
3S
4T fall
3A tight
3Lz-2a
3 Lz eu 3S
3F
4 seasons. His arm choreography is divine.
He looks like he has grown. Legs for days.
Rippon arms on first jumps indeed.

Anything but quads, Lucas… Just plain skating. I want this guy to thrive.

Because more likely than not he finds it easier to find his center that way. Several skaters have done interviews saying so and/or once they learned it, it was difficult to unlearn.

I know…but his natural talents are elsewhere. 😭
I disagree. He's pretty young - just turned 17 in June - and his 3A is pretty decent already, and the 4T is a really new jump for him. If he's still struggling with the harder jumps in a couple of years, then that's a reason to worry.

He gets off some beautiful 4 toes in practice from all reports. And it appears he is undergoing a major growth spurt, all while upping his jump content and entering seniors. Plus, he has to learn to compete and cleanly execute a longer program (as do all other skaters who transition from junior to senior). He is certainly a gifted skater! One that I’m very excited to watch his journey.
