PavSvia - representing "Hungria" per the announcer - she's rivaling drunk 4CCs announcer lady! Nice 3tw to open. SBS 3T+2T+2T. Nice throw 3z! SBS 3s! One of the better pairs combo spins I've seen. Good throw 3Lo. It'll be interesting to see if CalMag can hold off both this team and OsiEpto remain on the podium. Oy, that last lift had a terrible exit/ending position and that's the final impression they're giving the judges, with another shite music edit.

OsiEp - nice 3tw, she two-footed the throw 3f, SBS 3T good! SBS 3s+1e+1s - messy from him. Another nice pairs combo spin, what is the world coming to? You can see Aljona's influence with this team already and that's not a bad thing. Really low landing for the throw 3S, and I think she two-footed it too, but not sure. Hmmm... I suspect they'll fall behind PavSvia, which is unfortunate, but still there's some nice qualities to this team.

CalMag - Oh, I'd forgotten about these steel blue ombre to white ombre to peach/tan costumes. The feed is starting to get sketchy again. SBS 2a, throw 3f - I think her landing was as sketchy as the video but not sure, lift, SBS 2s+1a+1a , throw 3lo - stepped out on the landing and two-footed to boot. Nice death spiral once the video decided to behave again. Interesting positions in the pairs spin but not really a fan of the exit. What is wrong with these music editors these days? Or maybe music in general just dying out at the end?

By the way, just for the tights halfway over her boots, they deserve to drop behind both PavSvia and OsiEp - and they do!

That is kind of an odd long program for Caldara/Maglio, in terms of the music, and I think flesh-toned gloves would work better for him than black. They appeared quite tentative in the lifts/death spiral, kind of clinging on to each other a bit. (ETA: What kind of facial expressions should one have when skating to lyrics about being "so serious"? Ironic or literal? LOL.)

ConMac - let's see how their new SBS combo works out for them today ahead of Worlds, which is why they're doing this competition, apparently. Teensy bit crashy on the 3tw, IMO. SBS 3t+2a+2a - not bad! SBS 3s! The fight for bronze at Worlds is really going to be one of the best parts of the entire competition! Nice throw 3lo! Swish on the throw 3s! I hope they can replicate this FS in Saitama - and not just because of the bronze medal race, but because it's really lovely and who doesn't want to skate their best at Worlds?

Good Worlds tuneup for Conti/Macii! They're definitely going to be in the fight for the podium at Worlds. I feel like their lifts are not as strong as some of the other contenders, nor possibly their basic skating skills. However, their jump consistency is really almost the best right now, quite impressive.
