Olivia Lisko 160.27
Kristen Spours 156.19
Emelie Ling 147.27

Warm-Up Group 3
11 Lara Naki GUTMANN ITA 10 55.87
12 Mana KAWABE JPN 9 57.10
13 Lindsay van ZUNDERT NED 8 58.03
14 Jade HOVINE BEL 7 58.26
15 Kristina ISAEV GER 6 60.02

Because this season wasn't complete enough without one more "Drowning" from Mana Kawabe. At least she went out on a positive note with a great skate.

Mana Kawabe (Drowning - I don't mind this music as much as some of you ;)) - jumps all landed: 2A, 3Lz+3T+2T, 3Lo, 2A, 3Lz+3T, 3F+2T, 3S - into 1st with 135.36 in FS, 192.46!

Gutmann (Hitchcock film medley) - jumps: Rippon 3Lz+1Eu+3S, 3T to 2A, 2F, 3Lo, Ripp3Lz, 2A+2T, 3S, [Psycho shower ‘screeching’/Birds cawing :D]. 171.75 (115.88 FS) - currently 3rd.

Well, we'll see what the judges do with those rotations for Lindsay, but it was nice to see her skate this program about as well as she can (just a hand down on the second 3Lz). Hopefully she can replicate both of these skates here in a few weeks at Worlds.

Hmmmmm... Hovine isn't here for the FS. I take it her SP score will still count for TES mins, and I suppose it makes sense for her to WD from the FS since she's got to travel to Calgary for Jr Worlds and competes her SP there on Wednesday.

Jyrkinen is falling apart here. She's going to drop like a rock in the standings. Hope she can skate better at Worlds.

ETA - yikes, behind compatriot Olivia Lisko overall. I wonder if Lisko will get the Worlds spot instead.

And it appears we have another sweep by Japan today... Presuming that Mai or Kaori don't blow their considerable leads.

Mihara’s jumps: 2A+3T, 3Lz fall, 3S, 2F, 2A+3T, 3Lz+2T+2Lo, 3Lo. ETA: 129.68 FS, 203.23 in 1st.

Pinzarrone behind Kawabe but she skated well - 128.21 FS, 191.20.

ETA that Nina landed 6 of her 7 triples cleanly according to her FS protocol: 3Lz+3T, 3Lzq, 3F, 3S, 3Lo+2A+2T, 3Lo+2T, 2A.

Kaori's got another FS dress. This one is red like her original one, but the cut is different - it's missing that loose strap on the back, and it's got a bunch of black glitter one one side of the torso/hip.

dosed off and missed the first group of jr pairs... oh well, lol... I'm awake-ish now for the last group and senior pairs.

Ghedini/Maierhofer - They have decent basics and I think they have nice potential. It will be interesting to see how far they can progress in the off-season.

de Nardin/Rossi Lopez - oh, that's right, how quickly I managed to forget they're a mirror team. Really clunky exit that was a near disaster on their second lift. Very slow pairs spin to end.

Severin Kiefer was with Ghedini/Maierhofer - being accomplished singles skaters they landed 2 sets of sbs triples - 81.60 FS, 118.54 in 1st.

Mirror Spanish pair - 114.82 in 2nd.

GER pair is using the popular song “Where’s My Love” by SYML.

Salatzki/Roeseler - Bandit wants love and attention during junior pairs. It figures. Impressions - nice, bland, skating to blah music that does nothing to keep me awake.

Flores/Wang - I didn't get these costumes at Nats for this music and I still don't, but oh well. Aw, she fell on the throw 3f today. Eeek, lift fail for them. Good comeback with SBS 3S and another stronger 2nd lift. Awww, struggling with the throw 3lo too - I'm guessing it will be counted as a fall. She looks at him like "okay, well, we made it through" after striking their ending poses, lol.

Here we go with the last event of Challenge Cup!

VLDigs - have I mentioned lately how much Simon Briggs needs to get a real pairs specialist to relocate to Dundee? 3tw wasn't as sketchy as yesterday, so there's that, I guess. SBS 2T, then SBS 2A+1A... Not even trying the international pairs jump of the season, eh? Step out from the throw 3Lo. Decent lift. And down she goes on the throw 3S. Another decent lift. Mind, when I say "decent", for this team it means he got her up and down safely and I wasn't scared for her. So, today is a "decent" lift day for them as the third one was also okay. Any bets on whether they make the FS at Worlds?

ValPia - nice 3tw to open, step out from her on the throw 3F, SBS 2T+2A+1A, ahhhhh there are some SBS 2S! Good lift. Nice death spiral. God, why do skaters think "Chasing Cars" is a good song to use? And she lands a throw 2S to go with the SBS 2S from earlier, lol. Their lifts are fine - nothing special, but serviceable. Ending with a pairs spin is a choice.

PieStrek - Oh, God... "To Build a Home" - are these skaters actively TRYING to make me fall back asleep? Really light, airy 2tw to open - plenty of air to get it to a triple in the off-season. SBS 2A, then a really nice throw 3f! The less said about that sad, pathetic attempt at a SBS combo, the better. Two nice lifts, and then she pitches forward and two-foots the landing of the throw 3z. Their lifts are certainly solid and they're not terrible, they're just not memorable either.

Piegad/Strekalin 100.25 in FS, 145.74 - their highest int'l scores of the season
Valesi/Piazza 142.46
Vaipan-Law/Digby 126.93

SchaMayr - 2tw to open, SBS 3T+2T+2A very careful, SBS 3S nice! Slow, steady lift, throw 3s - nice! This music is just dreadful. Who wants to join me in creating an IG or Twitter account dedicated to giving decent pairs music options? Another good lift, throw 2Lo. Glad to see them get through all the lifts nicely since they had a lift fail during the warm-up and it left me worried. Ending on a L1 death spiral is also a choice.

GamKor - their body language in the KnC yesterday was considerably warmer than at previous competitions, just sayin'. Nice 3tw, SBS 2s+1e+2s - ha! That's what I like - twice as many of the international pairs jump of the season as we get in most programs! LOL, then for good measure, SBS 1As... She two-footed the landing on the throw 3Lo. These pairs... Muse. And she two-footed the throw 3s - don't care, she landed a beaut yesterday and that got them their SP min! Okay lifts today. Nice death spiral to end, but again, this music just dies away. Meh.

DanTsi - okay 3tw to open. SBS 3s but she put her hand down. Throw 3Lz - not bad! SBS 2A and she completely stepped out and so they couldn't get a combo in. Oh, nice throw 3f! I don't hate their music, so they at least get points for that. Dutch pairs really are improving, folks. And as I type that they completely botch their pairs spin, which was was their last element. Shoulda choreo'd to end on the very nice death spiral they have.

With 4 pairs left:

Danilova/Tsiba 157.78 (100.50 FS)
Gamez/Korovin 150.01 (95.27)
Piegad/Strekalin 145.74 (100.25)
Valesi/Piazza 142.46 (98.95)
Schaller/Mayr 133.84 (87.64)
Vaipan-Law/Digby 126.93 (85.81)
