My guess is that many who probably would have retired are sticking around at least one more year since the Russians are not allowed in competition. It’s a great way for many of these, who would have never gotten a Grand Prix to get one (or two).

Pairs fields are so interesting... 2 teams from Australia, and both have never really competed before like this.
