2020-21 Programs and Choreographers

For me, “The Blower’s daughter” will always tie so strongly to Dube/Davison. Their worlds performance was pure magic. Hope KMTMM can make it their own.
I said the exact same thing in the Canadian Pairs thread - D/D's FS to that song is still one of my favourite Canadian pairs programs.

I remember the first pair to use Blowers’ Daughter: Sale and Pelletier in Stars On Ice. Is there a video somewhere?

Estonia's Eva-Lotta Kiibus debuted her SP to "Sign of the Times" by Harry Styles, choreographed by Benoit Richaud, at the test skates in Tallinn earlier today. ETA: @alchemy void reported that both Kristina Shkuleta-Gromova and Gerli Liinamäe skated their short programs in Tallinn to "The Show Must Go On" by Queen.

Ivett Toth debuted her Latin medley SP at the Hungarian test skate this past weekend but not her Avatar FS (2009 OST): https://www.instagram.com/p/CDjynLGpW3k/

LP: The White Crow, soundtrack
choreo by Ilya Averbukh

Actually, crow is 'ворона', 'ворон' is raven. The correct translation should be 'White Raven'

Then they translated it incorrectly into Russian. In any case, 'White Raven' sounds much better than 'White Crow'.

The whole idea of the title to this movie comes from Russian idiom, nothing to do with how it "sounds".

The title is a reference to his childhood moniker of white crow (with a somewhat similar meaning to "black sheep" in English), because he was unusual.

"The White Crow" – belaya vorona – the Russian idiom meaning the person who is different from his surroundings, who doesn't 'fit' within cultural circles and goes against the stream.

(From different context, but same idiom: https://afisha.london/en/2019/03/15/review-of-ralph-fiennes-s-the-white-crow)

The thing with Satoko is, with her musicality and artistry, I don't mind if she uses warhorses because I know she'll manage to bring something fresh to it. I never worry about Satoko's music choices. Her jumps, yes, but not her music choices. If she's doing Tosca, it's going to be an awesome Tosca.

And I'm REALLY eager for that Satie/Glass (I think it's Glass?) mashup.

Her interpretation skills are obviously not in question. It's not that she won't do it justice but I don't see anything fresh about using warhorses for all her programs
