Today we wrapped up the 2021 Skate Ontario Sectional Championships with long programs in York and Ottawa. Thank you to everyone who made this 7 day, 6 hub event possible. We appreciate the dedication and perseverance of the skaters, coaches, parents and volunteers as we navigate a new way of competing. <snip>
... now that the taping is complete the videos will be sent to a panel of Officials next week to be judged. Once we have the results we will post them, stay tuned to our website and social media!

(The 6th hub appears to have been the Magna Centre in Newmarket, based on SO's Instagram stories today.)

Sectionals - Streaming on CBC this Weekend! - Skate Ontario

Exciting news, Ontario skating community! The 2021 Skate Ontario Sectional Championships that recently took place over 7 days in 6 locations will be streaming this weekend on CBCSports.ca, CBC Gem and on the CBC Sports App for iOS and Android this Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22...

The 2021 Skate Ontario Sectional Championships that recently took place over 7 days in 6 locations will be streaming this weekend on CBCSports.ca, CBC Gem and on the CBC Sports App for iOS and Android this Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22.

Short/rhythm programs will take place on Saturday and free programs on Sunday. Both days the stream will begin at 6:00pm ET.

Although the format of this event may have looked different than in year’s past, it was the first step in order to qualify for the 2021 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships scheduled for February.

Join us this weekend as we watch Ontario’s Junior and Senior skaters competing from Milton, Toronto, York, Aylmer, Ottawa and Peel as they vie for a spot to compete at the Skate Canada Challenge and ultimately the National Championships.

(Bummer for those of us outside of Canada... )

I don't see S/F on the entry list. I can't imagine why not -- Carol Lane's other teams are there. Can they still qualify for nationals without doing sectionals this year?

ETA: Never mind, I just found them on the Quebec sectionals list! There must be some rule based on when they transferred coaches, or something.

Skaters represent their home club not their trading centres.

Sure, just as long as it’s not to record the entire junior and senior ladies events; after watching so much Russian Cup, that would just make me depressed.

I wonder if they will post a schedule and start orders for the Ontario Sectionals stream. And how long will it take to stream the jr and sr programs in all four disciplines.

Without warmups, resurfacing or live waits for scores, depending on how sharply they edit it you could get the short programs down to 3-4 minutes per performer/team, which would mean 15-20 per hour.

There are 29 senior entries and 54 junior entries total.

Moore-Towers/Marinaro have a bye to nationals as reigning Canadian champions. I would think they were looking to skate something that felt somewhat like a competition program & this will be 1 of 2 opportunities before Canadians.

This is the "new normal" - remember the uneven video/audio quality of the USFS' ISP Points Challenge videos? At least Skate Ontario was responsible for the filming and not the skaters themselves.
