Like, almost non-existent,Well it's unlikely we will ever know.. Because promotion is fairly weak skill at USFS

glad i bought tickets when I did lol there were plenty to choose from thenThe SOI show in Allen is now sold out. Can we get Skate America back there please![]()
That's probably too expensive for them. I assume they're banking on Olympics excitement combined with targeted social media ads being enough. Then maybe some local radio spots if they haven't sold out in the week leading up to a show. They should have advertised Stars on Ice during the Olympics

I'm sure the other feds know the dates of their GPs already. It's good that the FFSG have secured the arena in Angers for that weekend so that we don't have to worry about them asking to away with any other fed.Is there already a thread about the 2026–2027 GPS?
The French Federation announced that the French GPS will be held in Angers from 13 to 15 November (Just 3 days?). Considering the past schedule, does this mean that France GPS will be the fifth event?

Other Feds should also have dates, but who knows what will happen, like this season?![]()
I am obviously all for this I would be so excited I don't have to fly anywhere but I can't see Charlotte getting any skatingI haven't seen Charlotte mentioned in this thread... it has suitable arenas. The Spectrum Center in the downtown area has held 10-12K for Disney On Ice and Bojangles Coliseum, which is the home of an American Hockey League team, seats 8,600. Of course, both the NBA and AHL teams would have to go on road trips to accommodate USFS.
Unfortunately, Greensboro doesn’t have a usable 2nd arena. We have a complex called the Ice House that baby hockey and figure skating happens, but no where near the seating needed. They did have the practice ice in the same venue which was great, but again no where near enough seats for a competition.I am obviously all for this I would be so excited I don't have to fly anywhere but I can't see Charlotte getting any skating
Greensboro?

The temp ice surface they set up on the ground floor in 2011, 2015, and 2020 had plenty of seats for the Juv through Novice comps that they held there. They had the Junior and Senior events in the main arena.Unfortunately, Greensboro doesn't have a usable 2nd arena. They did have the practice ice in the same venue which was great, but again no where nearly enough seats for a competition.![]()
The advantage CLT has over GSO is it's a hub airport. Charlotte's disadvantage is that the NBA team rather than the city manages the Spectrum Center, so it's not like the government can just up and tell the Hornets "Ilia and Alysa are coming - GTFO for two weeksI am obviously all for this I would be so excited I don't have to fly anywhere but I can't see Charlotte getting any skating

".Well, neither SkAm nor Nats require an arena for 2 full weeks. The advantage CLT has over GSO is it's a hub airport. Charlotte's disadvantage is that the NBA team rather than the city manages the Spectrum Center, so it's not like the government can just up and tell the Hornets "Ilia and Alysa are coming - GTFO for two weeks".
I'm in the ...just make a decision and announce it, please category.Philadelphia, please.
GREENSBORO NC ! Come back, pleeeez!Seeing that the USFS has an RFP for the 2027-2030 Nationals available on their website (https://usfigureskating.org/sports/2025/8/21/host-an-event.aspx) and an event like Nationals requires a large arena that is likely booked a year or more in advance for concerts, shows & other sports events, I would be highly surprised if they don't have a good idea of which cities are interested in hosting '27 Nats already, especially since they also need a secondary arena that can host the lower categories that will be returning to Nats next season.
From the RFP -
They may not have a signed contract, but, to be honest, there aren't going to be many options that can handle the dual arena requirements.
My theory was that they were holding off so they could announce it during the Olympics, to capitalize on the spike in interest in skating that accompanies the Games.I have two theories
1. US figure skating wants to wait until you’ve committed to spend your money at other events or on other vacation options before telling you where they would like you to spend your money because they understand that all of their fans have unlimited funds so it won’t really matter- they could announce it tomorrow, and they believe that we would actually buy tickets and fly to them to spend money
2. they really don’t want you to attend and they’re hoping if they wait till the last minute and don’t tell you where it is they won’t have to deal with fans
Take your pick![]()
They missed a great opportunity. Especially with Alysa saying she was going to keep competing. My theory was that they were holding off so they could announce it during the Olympics, to capitalize on the spike in interest in skating that accompanies the Games.
Obviously that theory has been disproven!
My best guesses are two things:If it’s SLC as has been rumored for months, WTH is the holdup.
you know which soi sold out?Maybe they're looking at SoI ticket sales or something. LA? Boston? New York? Chicago? Even SJ or SF for the locals wanting to see Alysa? Those would all be great options.
If they hold nationals in Allen I vote we give Kevin Aymoz a guest pass to compete because obvious reasons.you know which soi sold out?
ALLEN, TX
I don't know if your crackpot conspiracy theory is all that off because I've had similar thoughts. The tickets for the SOI show at the Maverik Center are moving slower than a lot of other areas of the country (surprisingly, the Minneapolis & Greensboro shows also have a lot of ticket availability still). The crackpot conspiracy theory is that SLC is a safe option, but given Olympic media darlings like Alysa and Ilia are continuing and other Olympic names (Amber, Maxim) haven't officially called it quits they may be hedging their bets and trying to get it in a larger arena in a larger city with more media presence. SLC is nice, sure, but there aren't many skaters, skating fans, or casual fans there. Maybe they're looking at SoI ticket sales or something. LA? Boston? New York? Chicago? Even SJ or SF for the locals wanting to see Alysa? Those would all be great options.
LOL! sorry, the seating capacity for Allen makes it a non-viable option for Nats. But I do think the DFW arsa in general could easily support hosting Nats again.you know which soi sold out?
