On one of the first pages of the event program, there is a list of all the U.S. cities that have hosted Worlds, with year listed, reverse chronological order (most recent first). L.A. in 2009 is missing. Could the LOC not afford access to Google? 🤨
maybe they used the google ai summary which is notoriously terrible

Forgot to post this yesterday....the hair accessories from the famous designer are on sale at the merch booth. The green headband and gold headband that were a collab with Madison Chock/inspired by her FD dress are $125 and $75, respectively. The bedazzled headbands modeled by Amber and Ilia on USFS social media are $195. I didn't check the price of the bedazzled ribbons modeled by Alysa and Camden.

I’m wondering if people of Canada have access to the competition on YouTube? The access online in Canada is terrible. Once the livestream is done on CBC Gem, you’re out of luck….. unless there’s some non obvious, legal way I’m not seeing. You also have to search for Livestream on the app, it doesn’t appear on the home page.

No. You have to pay for a VPN to get it.

I caved and bought a month of Surfshark ($17.99) because I couldn’t take anymore of CBC Gem.

I have been watching the ISU livestream as it's being restreamed on CBC (not GEM) - it is not terrible although there are occasional little glitches. The only way to access the ISU YouTube stream directly is with a VPN.

Thanks for the confirmation everyone. How disappointing! I just happen to be home and watching men’s short. Otherwise, I’d be missing it. A lot of us work during daytime! It’s almost like the fact that CBC has rights to the broadcast makes it harder for fans to watch. The competition disappears from the app afterwards.

The stream is archived afterwards - you can find both of yesterday's on the CBC Sports website.

Please forgive the off-topic post, but I think this may be the best way to get this information to US folks attending Worlds in Boston who are also holding tickets to the 2026 Nationals in St. Louis.

It turns out only the senior events will be competed in St. Louis. The junior events are being exiled to the Centene Community Ice Center in Maryland Heights, which I was told is about 20-25 miles from the main arena.

I am not happy to have learned this critical information long after tickets went on sale and many people purchased All-Event tickets with the expectation they'd be able to see all the events without dealing with a rental car, parking fees, taxi/Uber charges or (possibly) icy highways.

I have expressed my displeasure at the USFS booth. Perhaps some others will want to do the same.

They are checking IDs of everyone entering the area where they are selling bottled beverages (which include beer and wine). I thought the guy was joking, then realized it must be b/c of the alcohol, told him I was just getting water (and really, dude, it's been a few decades since I was under 21) and he said everyone has to show ID. I handed him my driver's license and told him it had been almost 15 years since I was last carded, he laughed and said "You're welcome."

Oh, and the bag checks are getting stranger and stranger. When I got here for the men, the guys at the door waved me through a non-bag lane and didn't look at my bag (so I guess i didn't need to stuff my packaged sandwich in my jacket pocket), no metal detector either. Tonight, when we arrived for the pairs, we were sent to the bag lane, but no x-ray or searching, we just had to put our bags in a holder of sorts to walk through a metal detector but never looked at the bags. Whatever...

Last night I held my shoulder bag by the straps at knee level and walked right through without a bag check. DH had my dinner in a clamshell under his jacket. Total security theater.

But I had a great conversation with a Boston cop who’d never seen skating live before. Those little guys, he marveled (he himself was built like an NFL lineman.) can’t believe what they do, he said. I’m always touched when people are so impressed by our sport.

I had my bag over my shoulder last night (and afternoon) and both times got waved through the non-bag line. Yeah, pointless.

Fun fact: the CEO of LA2009 is current CEO of SCOB and Boston2025: Doug Zeghibe. I can attest that LA2009 did in fact happen, I was the Ground Transportation chair.
