Alysa Liu cheer/fan thread

@Cachoo is that Alysa's official TikTok account?

I've been reporting different Instagram accounts with similar names trying to make money off of her name (such as alyysaxliu - still up).

ETA from a March 3rd Newsweek online article:

Taking to her Instagram Story recently, Liu shared a strong warning about impostors and urged fans to be careful on social media.
"This is my only instagram account," Liu told her fans, adding, "Heard there were some accounts pretending to be me, hope yall aren't falling for em lol don't get scammed & the only other social media account I got is my one tiktok acc."
Liu's official Instagram account boasts an impressive 7M followers, growing significantly during her time at the Winter Olympics and her massive wins on the ice.

Alysa was honored on the House floor today by her Congresswoman.

Behind the scenes at Alysa's Teen Vogue shoot:
I almost never post covers I’ve worked on over the years. Social is maybe five percent of the process of bringing these to life, and I prefer to let my brand accounts sing. That’s where I pour my love, that’s how I’ve always operated — brand-first instead of cultivating my own social presence (or lack thereof, rather). But this one feels incredibly special. The team worked tirelessly in a WEEK to conceptualize, style, book talent, shoot video and photo, design, write, edit, and edit again until everything was just right. I’m so proud of them, and proud of the small role I played in this.
And don’t get me started on Ice Princess @alysaxliu. She’s given so many of us hope, not just at Teen Vogue but nationally and internationally, in a time where pretty much everything is awful. What a privilege to experience her sparkle. Congratulations to the team on this one, we definitely made the podium.

Alysa's wishes must be respected but I'm low key sad that we won't get to see her waving at well wishers with a ticker tape parade! And more fans could have seen her! 😁 The rally does sound amazing though and very Alysa! Although only well wishers with tickets will have the pleasure of seeing her I do love that Alysa wants to highlight artists! 🤩

A conversation between a senior reporter at The Rolling Stone and Alysa Liu. Some very interesting comments made by Alysa during her pandemic period. No wonder she wanted to quit. She is amazing! This 40 minutes long and very different.

ETA that right before Alysa was sent to Colorado Springs in 2021, her father had been contacted by the FBI (excerpt from the March 17, 2022 Associated Press article that was published before Worlds):
Arthur Liu told The Associated Press he had been contacted by the FBI last October, and warned about the scheme just as his 16-year-old daughter was preparing for the Winter Olympics that took place in Beijing in February. The father said he did not tell his daughter about the issue so as not to scare her or distract her from the competition.
“We believed Alysa had a very good chance of making the Olympic team and truly were very scared,” Arthur Liu said late Wednesday.
ETA 2 - Alysa has decided to withdraw from Worlds (good for her - she should have some fun! :)) - link to the posts earlier today in the U.S. Women's news thread: https://www.fsuniverse.net/forum/th...im-f-talking-about.113727/page-6#post-6909767

I wonder if Alysa has been invited to the Oscars. I seem to recall other American skaters attending in Olympic years.
Yes, winter Olympic athletes have been invited to the Oscars! I remember Mirai Nagasu and Adam Rippon were invited in 2018! Apolo Ono also comes to mind! Summer Olympians have been invited to other awards shows closer to their events, like the Espys, although summer Olympians like Venus and Serena Williams have attended Oscar events as well!

This Vogue article confirms Alysa is in Paris (March 10):
All the usual suspects sidled up to the Louvre today for Louis Vuitton’s fall 2026 show: Zendaya, Lisa, and Felix among them. But a new attendee stood out in the spectacle: Olympian Alysa Liu.
The gold medalist may be known for wearing crystal-covered dresses on the ice, but Liu’s look at Vuitton—a brown denim jacket and matching mid-rise jeans—hewed a little closer to her off-duty style. (Still, with her signature stripey hair and smiley piercing, we couldn’t miss her.)
