2026 Olys Womens FS PBP - Missed Full of Horrors

Peak Amber! Disaster SP, amazing redemption in LP, she gives us the lowest lows and highest highs.

I mean, it wasn’t a total disaster that triple axel was the bomb. But that double. I’ve always felt …. and this goes for all the skaters. I feel like a double jump should count in the short program, but it can’t be given positive GOE. A single pop will get zero and invalid but I’ve always thought a double jump should count in the short program. But I would not assign positive GOE to it.

I agree completely. If a single on the combo doesn't make it an invalid element, why the solo jump?

My bestie just said that Amber could’ve just went for a double axel in the short program instead of the loop like Sophie Jolene Diane von Furstenberg does, count the triple axel as the solo triple jump. But then I said yeah, but she did not know that she was going to double that loop. She doesn’t know going into it. But that is an interesting scenario.

In case everyone missed it - the judges panel -

Judge No.1 Ms. CUCUPHAT Helene FRA
Judge No.2 Ms. WALDER Alice SUI
Judge No.3 Ms. PARETSKAIA Nadezhda KAZ
Judge No.4 Ms. KANTOR Anna ISR
Judge No.5 Ms. HAN Young Kyung KOR
Judge No.6 Mr. GRAINGE Richard GBR
Judge No.7 Ms. HORIUCHI Ritsuko JPN

There’s salted caramel vodka?? Interesting…🤔
Yes, yes there is, Stoli Salted Caramel Vodka. Mix with a bit of half-and-half, Bailey's, shake with ice, salt the rim and pour and enjoy.

I'm happy with whoever leads in Canada v USA hockey. They all seem like great women. The US hockey men, however :blah:

I swear to god is there no one else they can interview besides Scott Hamilton? Can they not recruit Ben Agosto for this role.

Oooo, Ami looks kinda fierce. So many podiums I'd like to see. I don't care who wins gold as long as it's Kaori. LET JAPAN HAVE THIS. 🇯🇵 🇯🇵

I think an axel jump can't count as the solo trip though.

You can't do a double axel as the solo triple jump.

Curious and checked Petrokina’s Euros FS score, it’d give her around 215 total. She can stay ahead but it’ll have to be excellent.

For context and comparison, here is the top 3 with 12 skaters to go, then below that is the top 12 from last year's worlds.

The tech panel at Worlds was tougher than this one.

No, you don’t get it but it is a difficult scenario. The double axle would be instead of the triple loop at the end so that’s the double axle. Her first tuck jump. The triple axle would be the solo triple jump
No, you can only have one Axel solo jump, of any rotations, in the SP for the women at the senior level. She could do the 3A in combination, which is what von Felten attempts in her SP, but she can't do both a 3A and a 2A as solo jumps.
