Fall 2024-Summer 2025 New/Returning/Streaming/TV Shows

For those interested, Francois Arnaud who plays Scott Hunter on heated rivalry will be on watch what happens live tonight, Monday.

Can I get an 🙏 up in here?

Wait, what? Was Dylan the skater who was performing singles at the Sochi Olympics?
Pairs with KMT and they & Canada won the team event silver in 2014: https://www.isuresults.com/bios/isufs00012356.htm

"Were you in Heated Rivalry?!?!?"
Olympic silver medallist in figure skating Dylan Moscovitch on how he ended up on the hit show 'Heated Rivalry', and what he's been hearing since the show went viral."

^^^ yes, of course I remember Dylan skating with Miss KMT. I just would never have guessed that one single Olympic skater in heated rivalry was him.

The new Star Trek Academy is so much fun! And at times touching. It's a throwback to ST:TOS but without the '60s aesthetic and cheese. (It has 2025 cheese though. :D) I've only watched the first episode but I already love it!
I was surprised how much I enjoyed the first episode. I was so meh about Discovery that I didn't have high hopes for something set in the same part of the franchise, but I really liked it. I was less keen on the second episode but they're still in set up stage and it was fine, just not as good as the first one. Looking forward to more.

Well I just started Heated Rivalry today and holy shit, I cannot believe how invested I am in Ilya and Shane. I want them to be happy the way in a truly unhealthy way. Just gorgeous acting from both actors.
They hit the jackpot with those two, which probably would not have happened had it not been a small-scale Canadian production that was looking outside the box for talent. I remember hearing who'd been cast and it was like, "who are these people and how will this ever go anywhere?" But they are phenomenal. Connor Storrie IS Ilya, and Hudson Williams has given Shane so much depth and charm that, frankly, wasn't always there in the books. Really impressive stuff.

Also, Francois Arnaud is ridiculously handsome.

it’s incredible how Hudson can act with just his eyes and not say a single word, but it’s even more incredible Connor… I watch some behind the scenes takes, especially when they filmed the last scene of the series at the cottage, and he slowly comes out of Ilyas voice. he’s such a different person. But you really see that in his Instagram videos. Shows what a good actor Not only both of them are for Connor …. He’s nothing like Ilya.

Getting nervous because the fans are out of control, especially the younger generation they’re like the Fanyus, Francois who plays Scott Hunter had to Unfollow the entire cast. He’s getting some threats because he’s hanging out with Connor and I guess fans don’t want to see that so they’re threatening Francois. Society is becoming more unbelievable every day.

So……I think The Beauty premieres tonight on FX. Can anyone here say whether it’s actually good? Or does it further signal to me that Ryan Murphy likely needs an intervention? I’m already committed to watching Love Story (JFK, Jr. and Carolyn Bassette-Kennedy) when it starts on Valentine’s Day. May God help me. 😆

Did I see Meghan Trainor in the trailer?

I watched The Beauty and am intrigued. It’s about a formula that makes you young and gorgeous but has serious side effects. It gives me The Walking Dead: How it started vibes. There is one scene where they are running through the streets of Venice and there is not one single person anywhere. In VENICE?!

Season 8 of Drive to Survive releases on 27 February (the weekend before the first race of the year).

I am really not looking forward to this. I am expecting a full villain arc for Oscar and the series either totally ignoring Jack, glossing over the horrible treatment of him, or worst, trying to justify it. And then they'll act like Norris actually earned his title.

Just binged Ponies on Peacock this past week - not sure about how historically accurate it is but I rather enjoyed it and hope it gets a 2nd season.

The four shows that I am watching in weekly installments are. "Bookish", " Fallout", "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" and " Shetland.". All are worth the wait imho.

Need to watch Shetland. I binged on all seasons of Slow Horses (soooo gooooooooood!), Patience (meh), and just finished Heated Rivalry (just awesome). Going back to Shetland sounds like a good plan.

It's releasing weekly here in Canada so I'm waiting until it's closer to the finale to start it. I'm a big fan of Vic Michaelis, who plays Cheryl, from Dropout (streaming service based around improv comedy and Dungeons and Dragons) things so I'm excited to see it.

In case anyone still watches network TV ... .... American Idol premiere episode, the very beginning music when the show started ... its skating music and driving me crazy I can't place the name. Anyone who streams it later please come back and tell me what that music was.

We've started watching A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. It's fun and I am invested in "Ser Duncan the Tall" even though he is kind of stupid. Once it's over, I'm going to read the book it's based on The Hedge Knight. People are telling me I probably won't like the book but it's a novella so it's not a big commitment.

Unlike Game of Thrones or House of the Dragon, there is more humor than gore. In fact, the jousting was violent in a way but they don't really show anything bad. Though if you don't want to see horses fall, definitely don't watch that part.

Bookish is great! I am really hoping they make more episodes.

Ep.3 of Star Fleet Academy was better than ep.2 although I still feel like it's in the setting up the characters stage. The plot was pretty unoriginal, and the student characters quite two dimensional, but it's worth it for Holly Hunter's Academy Chancellor.

The thing I like about it is that it's aimed at a younger audience just like shows such as Riverdale and Pretty Little Liars but it constantly subverts their common tropes. Like the first captain of the team (whose name I can never remember) giving up his captainship voluntarily and also him not being a total jerk with his clique against the main characters' clique.

ETA in a typical teen drama, the team would have met secretly and agreed that Admiral's Daughter should be the Captain rather than him realizing she's better at it.

Watched the first two episodes of Wonder Man and love it! Mind you it is so far more drama than superhero flick but still love it! I can remember being that desperately unemployed once! LOL

Finished Wonder Man and it is sooooo good!!! Refreshing to have an entire season drop all at once. Yahya Abdul-Mateen and Ben Kingsley are golden together!

Anyone see the first four eps of Bridgerton yet?
I fell asleep earlier than usual and then woke up in the middle of the night. When I looked at the time it was 2:56am and Bridgerton was dropping at 3am in NY, so I turned on my laptop and watched it all. It’s like the other 3 seasons in that it’s a mix of stuff that works and stuff that doesn’t.

I've watched the first three episodes already. Last one will have to wait until after work.

Dh and I watched it last night. I would say that it was enjoyable but it dragged at times and I could keep seeing glimpses of a much better show in there. I agree that Yahya Abdul-Mateen and Ben Kingsley were awesome and the best part IMO.
