I looked this up and from what I could tell it doesn't start until the week after Finalndia (around the 28th).

I was hoping it would be running while we were there and I was disappointed LOL!

Yeah, it’s a bummer the Christmas Market (Tuomaan markkinat) begins just a week after Finlandia. But there happens to be the Opening ceremony of Christmas street on Saturday 22nd https://www.myhelsinki.fi/events/opening-of-christmas-in-helsinki-2025/

They will put up the traditional lights at Aleksanterinkatu and the department store Stockmann reveals their Christmas window decoration in the corner of Aleksanterinkatu and Keskuskatu.

I will check the small one out. And as we are doing the two hour train ride to Turku on Sunday, we will go to their Christmas market which opens November 22.

I've been here since Sunday, am staying a 10 minute walk from the arena. It's been cold but not crazy cold. Got a dusting of snow yesterday, looks like it is supposed to warm up and be rainy tomorrow .

it's a beautiful sunny day today, so I went to Suomenlinna Fortress. Meeting a friend at the Oodi library tonight and getting dinner. I also booked to stay until Monday so I may go to Porvoo Sunday. Next week is Tallinn! There is some sort of competition there the weekend of the 28 but I have to go home, boo.

Okay I am loving your plans! Helsinki and Tallinn were two of my favourite places I was lucky to visit during worlds several years back.

not sure if you have been - but when a bunch of us were at worlds we went here for dinner and I had reindeer and some other interesting foods - I loved it.. Anthony Bourdain did an episode there as well, its called..
