Japanese were clearly the class of the field - they established dominance in the short and had zero competition by the free.

Deanna and Max were so bizarre. I thought the single twist was an intentional injury prevention strategy or something but they seemed pretty distraught over in the kiss and cry. Getting that second 2A called was somewhat generous - think it could have gone either way really. Overall there really wasn't much to this program. They skated through a lot of the music, ignored a very bold tempo change and picked already extremely overused music that felt very juniorish.

They should have been behind the Hungarians - really frustrating that the Hungarians missed the sequence cuz those two 2As are MONEY and they usually hit it.

I must say how well Deanna looked for both of her programs, like her make up and hair and costume - so pretty! Is he injured? Will wait and see, was anything mentioned in the press conference?

I thought it was maybe just me being cranky, but apparently a lot of you aren't feeling this music either.

Totally agree on Miura/Kihara - I understand why they chose the Bocelli, but there's so much in the original Gladiator score that they have the speed and presence to pull off.
Deanna's program to me lacks a lot of flamenco character in the choreography. It kept reminding me of how brilliantly Lambiel interpreted the same music.
I see why USFS wants to push Shin/Nagy, but I think that push was coming a season too early. Even with all the citizenship issues other teams have, barring injury to others, they're potentially on the outside looking in.

I'm an absolute sucker for Gladiator programs. I barely even recognized that this was Gladiator. Why pick a great score and then not use any of the good parts??? I'm more annoyed than if they just chose bad music! (Like Deanna and Max )

I was informed that some of the music was from Gladiator II which couldn't be saved by Pedro Padcal. I slept through the last half.

Well, the Pairs FS certainly unsheathed the claws on some of you! The negativity towards Faula/Belle .. They weren't THAT bad. They are a young team with little competitive experience in the big leagues and I do see the potential. The final spin was a mess when they ran out of gas but they were attempting a difficult position in it. They'll get it and it will be great.

The Kovalevs look like their hearts aren't into it anymore. I actually feel kind of sorry for them.

Pavlova and Sviatchenko are a really good team and, imo, were robbed blind in the free skate. They definitely should have been ahead of Deanna and Max.

I don't know what was going on with Deanna and Max but I truly hate it when the judges "cook the books." I'm never surprised by it ... just disgusted .... like I've always been (since it's been going on forever). On the bright side, I thought their costumes were great.

Miura and Kihara were the class of the field for sure BUT .... once again, Riku is biffing jumps. I fear they will not win Olympic gold if she does not STOP doing that. Ryuichi is solid and just keeps going (will this be his 4th Olympics?) but never seems to have a partner as good as he is. And that program is taking everything he's got to give. He's SO tired at the end. I almost wish they weren't doing that ending pose because of the demand it makes on him at the end of such a strenuous program. BUT, it looks great! I like their Gladiator music very much and thought their costumes were lovely.

Did she change her hair color? I didn't recognize them at first either until they were skating. There are roots and I remember her with darker hair.
