I can see why Christina might feel like this isn't where she wants to go for an Olympic season where there's so much else going on. I hope they bring it back in another season because I'd love to see what they were cooking.

Second time one of my favorites has ditched a Lacrimosa program in an Olympic season. Mozart and I are feeling very disgruntled.

But seriously, yes, I hope they bring it back sometime too.

I know what she originally said but to me it makes more sense that it was driven by USFS. It likely got in her head and she pivoted.

I hope they revisit Lacrimosa because I can see why they went for it - challenging but leaning into their softly dramatic style.

They looked great in the RD today - shame about the twizzle levels! Having seen a lot now, I think they have one of the best and most cohesive programmes this season.

Yes, and yes. Why are they NOT in first? I mean with all my love for Fear and Gibson, their skating skills don't do this rhythm justice. They looked rather bland.

I mean it was pretty clear by the goes being given to f/g it was going to be tough for cpom to top them. It's just ice dance things.

also I saw some quotes from scott and he said that lacrimosa had more "comtemporary and abstract elements" but they realized the team didn't completely feel it however he's hoping to return to it or something like it in the future. It really does sound interesting and I'd love to see them try it.

He also said nddp was one of the original ideas (which is what I thought) so Madi suggested they go back to it and it includes "several little tricks we came up with over the summer." Also that everything is fine with Christina's passport.

I was half expecting to see them on the list for Budapest (as I know they quite like 2 senior bs)…. Maybe a passport before Skate Canada is in the works?

Moot point right now. I love their material this year. The FD is absolutely smashing. They have the chops the touch. All that worrying was for naught.

They gave it a soft sultry interpretation. They do well with a romantic style, they have the touch.

What stands out to me is Christina/Anthony look very well trained for this point in the season. Everything looks very easy, smoothly delivered, nothing looks difficult or strained.

I will say I hope some things will change before the gp (there are some clearly recycled things that I want to be a little more creative) but there was also some really fun stuff that I hope to see really progress through the season. And bless the music for not being the worst possible options hahahaha like all that part with no singing was music to my ears in particular.

Yes. 100% this. Plus, I was always worried that Sorenson would trip over his toe pick, drop Lolo, or fall on a twizzle. Don't come for me. I'm being nice.

They look ready to compete and also like this FD is a great fit for them. However - I really hope they make some changes creatively to make it feel more special. Like maybe swap out a lift for the headstand straight line? The lifts and their placement just feel like Carmen redone - which under Scott et al feels unlike them? Total benefit of the doubt though as this is such new material for them.

You shouldn’t be showing restraint in an Olympic program. It’s the one time a little melodrama is called for

After rewatching a couple of times - I think we’ll likely see quite a different FD come Skate Canada. They always do so much programme and story development work through the season that I’m not concerned at this point. Loved the step sequence - felt like a highlight for me!
