I knew those knee slides looked vaguely familiar lol they look so good doing them! And their little dance break at the end is so so fun. They look more comfortable and faster in the first half, but that's fine. This is going to be so great by the end of the season.

I think it's obvious most of the choreography is their new RD but there just seems to be a disconnect between the choreography and music in the sense that a lot of the choreographic moves don't really hit any of the notes in the music being played and that is very unlike Scott.

I didn't feel that. It will get even better with the season. They created a vibe on their very first outing, they absolutely smashed it.

I mean Christina said they would be debuting their rd, so presumably this very 90s music is the music. The other thing to consider is that this is the first outing in very early August and that choreography leaves them very little breathing room, so I imagine it will continue to get smoother and more refined throughout the season.

Not sure what I think of this choice. Feels like they can grow into it (which is good). While it’s not an unusual choice (which they’ve done a lot this quad) I do think that it can get a crowd into it like a dance party - and we all know that audience on board is key. Also it will look very diffeeent come challengers I imagine.

Otherwise - they look great! Super confidence and assured on their feet, great upper body movement. When there’s a better video I might watch this and Batdance back to back - how far they’ve come since last Olympic season.

The music is hard to skate and dance to. It's very ambitious and they'll have to make a lot of adjustments to make this work. From the arena, it felt like they were energetic and focused on technique, but the music felt like unused background music.

I think this is a good thing for them in the Olympic Season. It forces them to up their game. I'll be rooting for them.

I agree - and also it’s August just now with placeholder costumes. I think come October they will have done a lot more work on this and it’ll be really good. One of the songs was number 1 in Italy when it was released so they maybe considered that too!

From what we’ve seen so far - this RD theme is a pain for everyone. It’s hard to stand out but this choice allows them to lean into the more grown up/sexy vibe that they’ve been working on and the little flourishes of Latin are a good choice when Latin really suited them.

I also really liked the sophistication of their Stevie Nicks RD from two seasons ago. It will take time, but these two gave us Perfume, so, they can do this.

Just a side note as to music choice, but apparently Sweet Dreams went to #1 in Italy and was played in clubs there a lot, so it's a saavy choice for an Italian audience.

They always do their homework. Always. They had me invested from Stevie Nicks and Perfume. These two can do great things.
